Receiving End...

On Saturday I received my parcel of goodies in the #ukminiswap.  So worth waiting for!

My partner was Annah (@this_malarkey), and she spoilt me rotten with a fantastic mini; EPP, appliqué, LV and all the other stuff I love, and the most awesome bundle of extras…

Thank you again Annah xxx

So that set me up for a good long weekend; new trainers, some sewing and a day out with the family today.

I know it's May the Fourth, so I'll just re-cycle the picture that has me smiling, even at the thought of it…

Back to work tomorrow, not so happy about that one xxx

Who? What?

I can finally reveal that my partner in the #ukminiswap was Hannah, aka craftyhannah over on Instagram.

She received her parcel on Saturday, and I was relieved to hear that I totally got her!  In the parcel, along with the AMH feathers mini and the Lola pouch, was a little AMH key fob, (well it wouldn't have been right to not make her one!), a spool of glittery ribbon, a kitsch face-spinning kitten thingy and a pin badge…

Because it is sooooo in my nature, I am still patiently waiting for my package to arrive; soothed by the knowledge that it was delayed in being mailed not lost in transit.

I won't be at home tomorrow when the postman comes, as I am off to see Ceri for a micro-Brit Bee meet up, so dear hubby will be on parcel lookout!

Sunny Success!

What a beautiful day - I cracked on with some stitching, caught up with last night's Ordinary Lies on my iPad all while the conservatory was still cool enough to sew.

So I go me a FAL finish already!

I finished up my #UKminiswap extras, I will get a group shot before I pop the lot in the mail, but here's the FAL item, an Anna-Maria Horner Lola pouch…

I have loved all the Lola's I have made, and this is no exception, and the Cotton & Steel binding has to be one of my favourites.

I also made a good start on my Betsy Travel Bag, not quite caught up with the Sew-along, but a good start nonetheless…

I could have achieved more, but I spent an hour or so soaking up some vitamin D, because I am sure the lovely weather won't last and I've really got to keep those rickets at bay xxx

Marching on...

After yesterday's progress, today I have continued the productivity by piecing the #ukminiswap top, making the backing and binding, and deciding for sure that, with all the seams, a little hand-quilting round each feather is the way to go…

Each double-feather block measures 6" square, so you can get the scale.

Scrappy binding, a pieced backing and white perle to complete the picture.

I think I will save the quilting and binding for the weekend, a little of what you fancy does you good and all that jazz ;)

Feather-brained...

Today I actually got down to a full day of cutting and sewing.  It felt rather good.

Although the #ukminiswap deadline is still a month away, I thought it was time for me to crack on with my AMH feathers that I started last year!

I am pleased to report that I now have all 18 mini feathers sewn up…

Excuse the dark night-time shot, this one, taken at the mid-point this afternoon is more true to the colours…

These have been a bit of a labour of love, and I am hoping my partner will love them as much as I do.

Thinking ahead already and wondering if a bit of hand-quilting could be in order?

Feathers...

I've made a start on my #UKminiswap.  Mini feathers…

They are looking rather good, and well worth all the paper-piecing reverse-angle angst.  Hoping my partner agrees, (and does not get another identical in the other swaps she is in!!).

They may sit for a while before they progress; my head is full of car repairs, boiler malfunctions and a nice snotty cold and matching headache to top off the start to a fun week.  It might even snow tonight.  Oh joy!

Swap-a-holics Anonymous!

Yep, I jumped into another swap just because it was there!

The #UKminiswap to be precise; nice long deadline, cheap(isn) shipping and a lot of lovely people joining in the fun.

As is tradition, I've just posted a likes mosaic, have begun stalking my partner and may even have a little plan brewing already!

Dear partner… I likey!
I know I keep moaning about all the stuff I have to do, but it's actually quite nice to have something to look forward to for when everything calms down a bit.

In the meantime, it's back to list making and present stressing!
