Bits...

It's been one of those days, not the greatest - and I am very tired.

You know when you tell the kids that if they eat too much chocolate they will be sick, and they don't believe you; well after last night, they do now...

The toys got swiftly ousted for their own benefit! (Ange, keep your thoughts to yourself x).
So not much sleep and a lot more washing than I had anticipated.  We didn't therefore go on the village egg hunt today, and it snowed anyway.  Nothing settled, but why is it still that bloody cold?

I did finish my Orbit though.  It is all washed and lovely, and I will take it to my parents' tomorrow for a proper photoshoot, all things being equal...

Pre and Post crinkling.
I also cut all the templates for my Marcelle Medallion quilt.  I have some additional fabric en route from Pink Castle, and can't wait to get on with it.

Well I think I better just grab a quilt, settle on the sofa and try not to spread my mood this evening, don't you!?

I really hope your weekend has started on more of an upbeat note than mine xxx

Oh Happy Happy Day!!

Wouldn't you be the happiest person in the world too, to wake up to this...

Need a closer look?

Denyse Schmidt Picnics & Fairgrounds, 8 half meters, including 4 of the Spotlight Austrailia/NZ exclusives that I somehow managed to 'text' my sister round a shop on the other side of the world to find!

Some cute owl and tape measure ribbon also from my sister.

No introductions necessary!  I am so 'behind', good job I have now this beauty to help me catch up...

...and all these extra bits, (but I have no idea how you use them yet)!

No birthday would be complete without jewellery and chocolate...  (No, I do not have teeny ears - it's an enormous bar!)...

... and look at what Judith made me!  How perfect is this?

Then my parents arrived, with more wonderful presents...

They 'kiddie-wrangled', whilst my wonderful husband and I escaped to Brighton.  I forced myself to do a little shopping in Cath Kidston, the bead shop and Habitat (RIP)...

Didn't venture into All Saints, but took the obligatory photo...

We had lunch at GBK, and were fit to burst!  The most brilliant and enormous burgers since being in NZ for real; we couldn't finish this lot!

Then home for cake and cuddles with the smallfry...

The mini decorations up close...

I am so happy, like you wouldn't believe!  Thank you for all my birthday wishes, now I have matters of the Janome/chocolate-kind to attend to!!

The Long Good(ish) Friday

Can you believe it's October?

We went for a second viewing of the house we want this morning.  It still ticks all the boxes, even in the pouring rain,  HOWEVER we are not in a position to buy it yet - viewing here tomorrow, so who knows!  So frustrating :(

I picked up my Meet Me At Mike's from the post office - I want to make everything!  So, as I was in town, I had to go the fabric shop, had to buy some cream heavy-weight cotton to use on the Echino cushions, and had to stop myself from buying lots more!

This evening more web-designing, uploading, reloading and shouting at the screen, but we are 90% there.  Patient husband just needs to re-size it all so laptop-folks like me can see it all without scrolling, then it'll be done, and I'll post a link.

Has anyone got plans for the weekend?  I don't envy Kate over at M for Make, she's doing a 10k run and the weather forecast is dire.  One of my 3 year olds has decided that we should all stay in bed all day on Sunday, and eat up all the remaining Easter (yes, really!) chocolate, and who am I to argue with that!

I want to buy the new Sew Hip magasine, get the cushion tops cut and sewn, and stay out of the rain as much as possible (oh, and sell the house), so not much to ask.
