Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Just as we headed out the door for school this morning the snow began to fall; by the time I got home, everything was white, but then the sun came out, it all melted and that, as they say, was that!

But coincidentally, I finished up a little embroidery, another of Aneela's Little Stitches festive beauties.  There were many, many french knots, they were a challenge that provoked a lot of swearing, but now it's finished and ready for Christmas...

The second picture is the wall hanging I am hoping to get finished this evening.

I also got to the point of boxing the corners of the 5 remaining draw-string bags, but they will have to wait.

I have load of blogs to catch up on, my MacBook seems to be feeling the strain of Giveaway Day and is going incredibly slowly, so I may be reading and not commenting, because the sight of the Mac beachball of doom is driving me round the bend!

So on that note, farewell for now, I'm off to grit my teeth!

  3. Love the embroidery, that book is amazing, i am so looking forward to cracking it open and embroidering my new Christmas tablecloth (which I haven't actually made yet!). I think i will be avoiding anything that requires more than 300 french knots though, cos that's just mad, and my head would probably explode!! Ange. : )

  5. I agree that french knots can be stress inducing... at least on your piece they are all in a clump so you can "prop up" any wonky ones! I've been restarting my computer frequently too as I click about on the giveways... so fun but my quilting time is suffering.

  6. Snow here too - it's stayed and is incredibly crunchy tonight, the chickens were not impressed. I'm impressed with the sharp corners in your picture, I HATE the corners when binding quilts. Mine are, quite frankly, hit and miss.

  7. Love your stitching!! I adore French knots - I learnt the Sublime Stitching way:

    and it really is easy.
Beachball of doom is so exactly what that thing is, you are just brilliant!

  9. Beach ball of doom - that is brilliant. I think it might not be your poor computer's fault, however. We have had more snow than you, too. I love the embroidery, I have to pull out some to do over the holidays.

  11. I love that wee house!! And I'm sniggering like mad at the beach ball of doom. And I'm also so removed from the blogaverse just new that I had no idea it was SMS Giveaway time again. Rats!!

  12. Loving your snowy house! And also cracking up at the beachball of doom, which is still probably better than the blue screen of death that my PC has decided to show me once a night this week - I had feared it was on it's last RAM, but I was hoping it could hold out to the post Christmas sales...
