Flower Power

KatCam requested a couple of Retro Flowers as her Brit Bee blocks for August.  So whilst she was cheering the Brits to gold at Eton Dorney on Friday, I crossed the finish line with her floral pair.

Having made four of my sixteen RFs, I am all too familiar with the pattern and all that trimming and pressing, but I drew a deep breath and got to it.
After finishing these, I duly made up another 3 of my own, which I have forgotten to photograph, sorry.  I love these blocks so much when they are finished, but after the curves are sewn, which I do enjoy, I just wish they would miraculously finish themselves!

Right, I best go psych myself up for another gruelling day watching the Olympics.  Isn't it exhausting watching Team GB win gold medals?!

  3. Lovely blocks! Enjoy the Olympics - my nanna nap was hijacked by the gymnastics!

  4. had to laugh....I'm completely emotionally drained with all the excitement and my Swiss husband is well cheesed-off. Murray beating Roger this afternoon was the icing on the cake for him....not.... (He is on the verge of banning the Olympics at our house!)

  6. I love this retro flowers block, but having just done some curves for ANnabella, I don't think I'll be making a retro flowers quilt!
