Whilst the mice were away...

... I got to play!!

The girls were at their Nursery Leavers' Party all afternoon, so I had two, yes two whole hours alone in the house before collecting their brother from school!  Woo-hoo!!

So I set to making my mum's D9P quilt top in the peace and quiet.  I am on a bit of a deadline; 2 weeks and counting, and I haven't decided on the border, backing, binding or quilting yet.

I got all the blocks made up this afternoon, then this evening I pieced the top, and now it looks like this...

It's another dusk shot I'm afraid, so the colours are not looking as vibrant in the photo as they are in real life.  There is a little bit of method in the madness, you just have to search out the small white squares to see it.

So I am happy and so looking forward to my Wednesdays come September, when I won't be at work, and I get some more time alone!

  6. Nicely done! That seems an awfully long time to have to put off quilting - hope you can carve out an hour or two before September!

  10. Awesome D9P! You can afford to keep the quilting simple on this one, cos the fabrics and pattern just shout for themselves. Gorgeous! Jxo
