Smiley Faces...

Despite the rain, we spent a fun morning at the library with a few friends and a visiting author…

Sam Watkins talked about how she became a writer and read from her first book Creature Teacher; there was then some creative drawing, show and tell and obligatory book purchase and signing.  The kids enjoyed themselves, I got to have a natter, and for £5.99 I think that was a morning well spent!

After lunch I stitched up 14 emoji key/bag fobs for the impending birthday celebrations…

Not bad for a potentially miserable day stuck indoors xxx

Random emotions...

One little twinnie practicing her expressions for when she hears the England result in the morning...

Whilst the other is suffering mixed feelings, the joy of having a frog/toad inhabiting the top of the sandpit, and later, his older and somewhat more dried out brother found in the grass...

Right, I have the Siblings quilt all ready, again, and a football match to watch; the amount of binding stitched down will be directly proportional to the excitement of the game.  I'm hoping for a win win.

Sketchy Random...

It's time to fall back on the kids to provide a little random entertainment to the masses again!

Here are a selection of the recent pile that has appeared for my delectation...

In case you were unsure, clockwise from top right... a UFO, Princess Kate, Prince George and Prince William, some cartoon creature I should probably know the name of, and The Queen!

Linking up with Cindy and the Randomeers, who may, or may not have made a bit more of an effort ;)

Pencil cases!

Now, you may think that giving my kids felt tips is not the wisest of moves...

But fresh new packs of washable Crayolas needed fresh new homes.

I gave the small people free-reign of a tiny selection of fabrics, (I am not completely bonkers), and then whipped these up in an evening...

No fancy/annoying zipper tabs, nothing too adventurous.  They are likely to be used and abused; and I am under no illusion that pen lids won't be lost by the end of the week, and these will no longer be the pristine beauties that you see before you.  But I can live with that; mostly!
