Zip Zip Huzzah!!

Last night I decided it was time to finish a lurking UFO, (OK Rhonda, the UFO) that had languished in the bottom of my sewing bin since before many of you were born!

I finished this cross stitch during the pre-Christmas snow, but wanting a small purse to hold my 'going out 'n' about' hexies (more on those tomorrow), I set to conquering my zipper fear!

Armed with this...

...this...

... and this...

I managed this...

... having stolen a small child's ruler; to this...

... followed by...

... small panic having sewn it all together with it fully zipped, but soon resolved!!

Hey presto...

... can you spot the difference?

Zip phobia gone!

  10. It looks great! I love making zippy pouches and have a pile of them to prove it. Once you do that first zipper they are a pice of cake. The hard part is not making a ton more!

  14. It looks wonderful - if it fancies a trip up North I'd be happy to look after it for a bit...
Every time I make a cushion with a zip I have to remind myself to leave it half open so that I can turn it through when it's finished...one lesson learned, several more to go!

  16. Congratulations! You have passed step one of pouch-making: sewing all sides with zip fully zipped. We've all been there girlfriend. You survived (and no, I cannot spot any difference) and your pouch is adorable.

  17. Go girl! I was going to say what poppyprint said, we all make at least one with the zip shut! That's why we have pins and fingernails......and it fine tunes our vocab.

  18. Yay you! I still haven't quite got the tab thing worked out for purses (which is what happens when you take a flying guess at it ;o) ) Oh well, next time...
