A hexagon sewing bag!!
I have gathered together my fabrics (including some of the lovely remnants from Sarah's Bee Blocks, thanks lovey), cut about 150 2" hexagons templates using printed sheets from Incomptech, and got myself all sorted for when the time comes...
I'm thinking that I would like to make one with wooden handles; I saw an old one in the local antique shop last week and it got me pondering...
So what are you hexing today?
Oh yeah! You are pondering too now!!
ReplyDeleteI love the greeny blue colours here in the fabric you've chosen - whatever you make is going to be very gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love that even the note book and the needle book match the fabrics - is your OCD showing a little bit? So is "A hexagon sewing bag" a sewing bag made from the hexies? Or a bag to have the hexi project in?
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I need to make bag for my hexies too... when you off on your hols?
ReplyDeleteA hexie bag for carrying your hexie project around sounds delightful - I haven't quite started this hexalong project yet but want to...maybe I could start with a bag too!
ReplyDeleteYour colours/fabrics are lovely
Great idea, looking forward to seeing it finished. I have one like the top picture that my Mum made me years ago for knitting. Nice fabric too!
ReplyDeleteYou've got me thinking now too! My hexagons are living in zip lock bags and I'm suddenly feeling the need for a pretty hexagon bag to keep them in :)
ReplyDeleteI'm hexing as part of my scrap busting. Who knows what they will end up as.
ReplyDeleteI am finally catching up on Rhondas podcast as was laughing loads at her trying to pronounce Leicestershire and Worcestershire! Very naughty of you but great fun....
LOL! I'm keeping my hexies in a wooden handled bag that looks just like your first pic!!!! I must post you a pic cos it's made in old fabric too! All we now are the nylon housecoats & rollers in our hair! Jxo
ReplyDeleteCould this be the first "pinning" on your blog? Have you succumbed to the wicked ways of pinterest?
ReplyDeleteThe second one is gorgeous though. And very "do-able", with a little ric-rac and some luck :-) (or skill, in your case).
Apart from those pinned to my deeesign wall....ooooh.....my stuff is in a plastic box. Am loving your fabrics and glad you are succumbing to the hexie disease.
ReplyDeleteI might pick up my hexies again tonight as I have no more revision for a while :-) Love the colours for your bag
ReplyDeleteWay to be prepared (ahem, former Girl Guide, perhaps?). I have never hexied, but the day I begin is fast approaching, I fear.
ReplyDeleteI'm about to hex some small children kicking a football against the wall next door, does that count? :oD Have fun with your hexing
