My Neighbour Hates Me...

...but I don't care!!!

Long story short; three separate deliveries whilst I was at work yesterday, 3 little red cards for me, 3 times off her or her husband's lazy arses to answer the door to the postman!

The fact she was on the phone the whole time that she was handing over the goods, and I didn't twig at first that the moaning was directed at me, meant I just grabbed the goodies and got home as fast as my legs could carry me.  Apparently her husband was trying to work at home... like he was on Wednesday probably, when all I could hear was his golf putting practice in the garden!  Pah!

So here's the loot...

Warning - you will be jealous!

And here's what was inside...

March Brit Bee goodies from Jo; I'd eaten the chocolate before I had finished opening the rest - I needed the energy!

Then some reading material...
This is absolutely gorgeous!!!!
Then more material...

White (it's there, honest), Dresden and Pomegranate Klona
And then the parcel to end all parcels!  Back in the New Year I won a giveaway over at Amy's Glitter, Vinyl & Thread; now I won't embarrass Amy with the whys and wherefores, hee hee, but her parcel finally made its way to me, and boy did she spoil me rotten!

Here are the giveaway prizes, wonderful Melody Miller coasters,  Japanese craft books and a sweet purse, there may have been mention of a few sweets and bits'n'bobs also...

Here's the 'also'...

Too much to fit on the lid!

And if these weren't enough, there was this - oh I should have videoed the happy dance!!

I was, and still am over the moon!!  Amy you are the best!

Oh, and just so the postman didn't get withdrawal symptoms from our door, he popped some DS from JoAnns courtesy of wonder Di through this morning...
I know I am lucky, so today I have been doing something for others; but more on that tomorrow x

Typical...

Woke up this morning and my throat felt like razor blades and I have developed a lovely cold to go with it.  Only ever happens at the weekend eh!

But all is not lost, the postman managed to put a smile on my face, bringing fabric from Kat...

Glorious Denyse Schmidt, and a new Mollie Makes...
I have resolved my Mother's Day dilemma, thanks to Leila, and hopefully I will get a little bit of sewing in later.  If I can drag my butt off the sofa.

Sniff, cough, achoo x

All sorts...

I laid out all my Stained pieces yesterday afternoon, and found that I was only one small piece short, so I was rather pleased and surprised at myself for that...

I ended up bagging each individual block separately, as I was anticipating a bit of a muddle and continual need to re-lay the whole lot out if I wasn't completely organised.

Whilst listening to my two buddies, Rhonda and Cindy chatting away on the latest Quilter In The Gap podcast (so funny!), I cut all the block sashing too, so I am now ready to start the sewing at last.

One thing I must say, cutting up on the kitchen worktop was so much better than hunching over the dining table.  OK so you are all saying 'yes obviously, didn't you know?', but I don't think I have ever had to cut so many pieces in one session, and I am so pleased I thought of it before rather than after!

***Edited 5th May 2012 - you will not be able to subscribe to the following magazine - probably best to just buy copies you find in the shops; should it be resurrected from Administration - do not risk your money ***

Yesterday I also received the first issue of Modern Quilting in the mail; it's fantastic.

I spent my first flick through saying - "I know her, and her and her", so I felt kind of 'in with the in-crowd', but it really looks like a great magazine, with or without friends in high places.

Look there's Brit Bee Judith D in the scarf!

Hopefully later today I will get the chance to actually read it rather than just grin at all the lovely pictures; who knows, I may even get to make something.

The sun is shining, and I suspect a stroll to get the paper will be in order shortly; Spring is in the air, happy Sunday everyone x

Weekend in print...

This morning's mail was a treat, I received a copy of the Wealden Times from Mandy Shaw...

Her absolutely beautiful home is on the cover and spread over about a dozen pages inside - she is one amazing lady!  Thank you Mandy.  If you are lucky enough to live in the area, pick up a copy, or by the magic of technology you can see it here wherever you reside!  (Thank you Google!)  I will be starting my Union Jack quilt using Mandy's pattern next week.

Lynne has also posted today that Lily's Quilts has been named May's 'Blog of the Month' in Patchwork & Quilting magazine, and Kerry also gets a mention - crazy, I am so proud of these guys, who I only know 'virtually', real 21st Century friends!

If you aren't up for that much reading, then just have a look at these yummies that I received too...

Klona solids from Backstitch, ordered yesterday!  Light grey backing for my Dad's Union Jack, and maybe a bit of each for the Brit Quilt Swap...not sure yet!

**Happy Scrappy Update**
Final edge of binding about to be finished!!
