OK, firstly I won't go all melodramatic and talk about the day the music died or anything, but I am sad, but this makes me happy...
So, I had to go back to the dentist this afternoon, as my newly boosted tooth was a little too big; 1/10th of a centimetre according to the man, about 7cms by my reckoning; felt like a sabre-tooth tiger. So I have been filed down to size and am now a lot more comfortable than I was when I woke up this morning... What a relief!
As I have nothing of my own to show you this evening, here are a couple of things you may be interested in instead...
Firstly, lovely, although frequently a naughty no-reply blogger, Annabella is having a brilliant giveaway over at her beautiful blog Life's Rich Pattern. The scrummy prize is in collaboration with The Intrepid Thread. If you want to know more, please pop over and take a look.
Also spotted today was this great hack on IKEA Hackers. These posts appear in my Reader List, and I tend to not to even open them, but the words 'Organized Sewing Room' couldn't be ignored!
We are getting the chance to go to the Swedish super store on Sunday when my parents will play guard to the kiddies whilst hubby and I get to celebrate our anniversary in style a couple of days early. I will be on the hunt for some storage and no doubt some fabric!
Well I have gathered together some bits to tinker with this evening...
...so unless anyone has any objections, I'll be off x
Thanks for the link to Annabella's blog - I've been meaning to visit for a while! Thanks also for the musical accompaniment to your post - I was listening to a radio interview with Michael Stipe a few months ago and I didn't pick up any clues that this was in the offing...Have fun at Ikea - you know how to celebrate ;o)
ReplyDeleteI tried to play the video and it crashed my computer! Shame cos I like REM. We live 5 mins away from one of the biggest IKEAs in Europe - it's a killer when you've no money & are OCD about storage like I am!! Glad you got your tooth sorted! Jxo
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! I hate it when the tooth isn't quite right - especially if it makes them super sensitive. Enjoy your making!
ReplyDeleteWhat`s happened to REM?? I`ll have a look online. It`s not me that`s naughty - it`s that naughty blogger! I don`t ever touch the settings and I only find out when you tell me. I`m going to put my email address in a non spam format on my side bar. Tomorrow. Thanks for the shout out Hadley and enjoy your Swedish meatballs and bounce in the balls!
ReplyDeleteGreat You Tube clip- must check it out for myself- although I'm a bit of a Bruce fan too!! I hope the mouth/teeth have settled down and are no longer causing you too much grief!
ReplyDeleteAs stylish as it really does sound, I'm quite jealous of your anniversary plans! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteSo glad it's not just my hubby who gets taken to IKEA for his anniversary. No really he likes it.
ReplyDeleteenjoy your chillout night tonight! x Fi
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary, enjoy your swedish meatballs dinner, and dont let anyone call you a cheap date - you'll make up for it in the storage department I'm sure! x
ReplyDeleteCoorrr you know how tocelebrate in style, go knock yourself out in the storage department! who'd have thought to stack those little tables! Priceless! Glad you're no longer in the dinosaur category! Enjoy your wee play session!
ReplyDeleteSo which anniversary is the Ikea one? I know 5th is 'wood', and 20th is 'china', but I didn't realise one was designated 'Swedish flat packed furniture'. He knows how to treat you! Have fun
ReplyDeleteOk have to ask what that blue round thing is that comes up in your photos? Hope you got some good sewing done Hadley!
ReplyDeleteI'm on a promise of fabric storage from IKEA. I want the stuff they sell in the children's section. Plastic tubs of varying depths that slot into wooden units. Tried to nick the ones full of toys out of Emily's room but she objected! Happy anniversary. Enjoy your outing. Which IKEA is closest to you!
ReplyDeleteoh my i am in love with your needle case. perfect blue! have fun stitching tonight!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the music link, I loved it. I had not heard, and thanks for that too. Enjoy your anniversary!
ReplyDeleteOooo IKEA, I'm jealous! Shame they don't seem to have one THIS side of the Dartford Tunnel!
ReplyDeleteOh I do so love IKEA and highly recommend going without kids (even with all the lovely children distractions.) It really is more fun without a toddler and a baby- and James (my husband) is a huge REM fan too- he liked you immediately when he read REM in your spotlight post. :)

ReplyDeleteHope tooth well settled now.x
Phew, glad he was able to file you back, you'd hate to have a snaggle tooth coming up to halloween ;o)
ReplyDeleteLove that you're doing an anniversary trip to Ikea, will you have a romantic meal of meatballs and gravy while you're there?
I've had a tooth filed again and there's nothing like the releif!
