I was back in the old routine today, but the least said about that the better! There was a little cheer in my 'corner', so it wasn't all bad...
Tomorrow, a new routine. Dear son goes into Year 2 and the girls start for the first time. So I have been sorting, naming, packing and organising and getting prepared.
Look at this lot...
These are pretty much all the bags we, well I, will be carting back and forth every day, plus drinks bottles and coats, cardigans and jumpers. Hence my idea for making tags for the Japanese Scrap Bag Challenge.
Not so bad if the girls get mixed up, but not so sure dear son will be impressed with their choice of reading matter, or showing and telling 'his' best princess pictures if we get mixed up!
I really need one of those old lady trolleys - and you think I am joking! Quilting, aprons and a granny trolley, isn't that what all 40-somethings aspire to!?
Seriously Hadley - granny trolleys are very `in` in Barcelona...available in every colourway and fabric including moleskin. Perhaps you could bring them back to the UK and start a trend?
ReplyDeleteHope the children have a great day tomorrow - my little guy should be starting pre-school tomorrow but has a cold and fever and he`s not quite old enough yet to do the thermometer in the mug of tea trick...I think...
Lol, those hippy types who sit on the pavement and weave braids in your hair in Brighton use those shopping trolleys, so what are you waiting for? :)

Get yourself a trolley and call yourself middle aged. Ignore the above comments trying to make you think you are joining in the latest trend! Hope the girls love their first day. Can't go wrong with a Hello Kitty lunchbox. Emily lives and breaths that cat!
ReplyDeleteI can really see you in an apron with a granny trolley taking the kids to school *sniggers*
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget the nylon housecoat!! Sorry you didn't get off to a good start. Hope tomorrow is better. Jxo
ReplyDeleteRemember to take your curlers out.......
ReplyDelete(Big day for mum too.)
And to take your fluffy pink slippers off...
ReplyDeleteHey, at least you had a cupcake to see you through the day :o)
I used to work at a university and granny trollies were very popular!!? I'd go for a nice tartan number :)
ReplyDeleteI think you deserve more than one cupcake after all that organising!
xx
I love those granny trolleys ( and regularly mix up my childrens school bag ! ) Love your blog and now following xx Ava
ReplyDeletegranny trolleys are very popular in our village: and they are great for tripping over in a busy Tesco too!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got everything sorted! Hope they havena great first day / first day back
ReplyDeleteStart as you mean go on and get the kids to carry their own gear! Good luck with back to school day!
ReplyDeleteR x
Hope tomorrow goes well for them all. A shopping trolley would be a very good idea!
ReplyDeleteYou could go the whole hog and pull the bags and kids in a pull along wagon (a big version of the ones toddlers have!) - any chance of you training them to carry at least one thing themselves?! Good luck!
ReplyDeletelol you crack me up! Aaah, those were the days! I soon made mine carry their own bags, (on the rare occasion I actually picked them up from school!)
ReplyDeleteEVIL BLOGGER hid this from me yesterday! Sorry! Awffy glad prozac seamstress was able to accompany you and give you a wee smile:-)
