Chop chop...

It hasn't felt like there's been a lot of sewing going on in these parts lately - I will put that right tomorrow, on my first official non-working Wednesday with all 3 children in school for over 6 hours straight!  Woohoo!!

Instead, I have been cutting...  Sarah and Jennifer, did you count the number of pieces required for the back of the Across The Sea quilt - well, did you?  Over 170!!!!!

Mine are now all cut and awaiting instruction - I am not attempting to second guess this one!

I now need to make a list of all the things I want to get done tomorrow, in the hope that I don't just come home from drop-off and fall asleep!

Before I go, here are my blocks for my nutty Brit Bee friend Susan, she's posted about them today, so I will too!  Using her GO! cutter, that she won in a giveaway, (insert ever-so slightly jealous tone of voice here); she sent us the fabric for 2 Drunkard's Path blocks.  I used Kerry's flippity doodah method of sewing the curves, and honestly without a hitch, they came together perfectly!

It's going to be a mighty colourful quilt, to match Susan's mighty colourful language!

  1. One hundred and seventy pieces? Well I have to get on with my goodie swaps first so I`ll be cutting later in the week me thinks. Your DP blocks are great and that Susan swears like a Brit...you wouldn`t think she was Canadian at all!

  13. Uh, yeah, I have written it all down (4 sheets of notepad) but I'm not cutting a thing till I see how it goes together because I have 60" wide fabric rather than 44", and also my quilt front is 3 1/2" shorter all round due to not having the white border (not entirely looking forward to the cutting lol)

    Enjoy your sewing day today!

  15. I love what you've done with your bee blocks. You and Susan have inspired me to take the DP plunge and try this out for a small charity quilt. I am super excited.
