Has to be done!

Before tackling the joys of the playroom, top of my half term hit list, the girls and I popped into the local antique shop on the way to get some provisions for lunch.

I haven't been in there in ages, not a lot changes, but I did spot these three well-worn beauties...

And this fun little thing...

I may have been sniffing out the fabrics, but the girls were more intrigued by the local taxidermy!

I didn't come home empty-handed, channelling my Brit Bee buddy Jude, I picked up a huge bargainiferous cut of denim...

Happy happy.

But after lunch, my view wasn't quite as pleasing on the eye...

... but over half ended up in a black sack or tub for getting shot of, so a job well started - there are still a lot of board games and things that need to be re-united with all their pieces but we are getting there.

Tomorrow we rest!

  5. Fun! I love the tag on that machine! Sorting toys drives me nuts, well done!

  6. Bon courage! Sorting toys is the worst and trying to convince a 5/6 year old to give up the old toys is not fun!

  7. Cute finds. Toy management is my nemesis.......hot-wheel cars, lego pieces and squinkies seem to occupy far too many corners of my house!!!

  8. Great denim find.
It's the random bits of puzzles that send me mad in this house! Trying to figure out which one it comes from for ages.

  10. Oh, I love a Grand Tidy Up or a Good Sort Out (or, even better, both at once!) and if I lived closer I'd be round like a shot to give you a hand! Good luck!!

  13. I'd have been too tempted and would have definitely brought a quilt home, I can't pass up antique textiles!

  14. Hahaha I spent this past weekend (a long weekend in Aus for Queen Lizzie's birthday) cleaning out the kids rooms. Three kids, three rooms, three days. A half full 8x5' trailer! Check out my pick on Instagram sarahkrothe. It's impressive! I was ruthless. We're moving house so I'm not taking anything remotely broken or missing bits and pieces, unused or unloved. Still seems to be too much crap in the house....

  15. I haven't done it for years and it is still waiting for me to do! Hoping it will all walk itself into the bin but not sure my wish will come true
