Just about a year ago, Eclectic Maker pledged to provide the backing for my Siblings Together quilt when my time came round.
Over the course of the year, Jo's lovely shop has gone from strength to strength, and I'd like to think we have become good friends too, we certainly spend a lot of time together!
Last week I popped in to choose my backing; I had already been in a week or so earlier and decided on some extra-wide Spot On, but not the colour. Within a couple of minutes Jo was cutting me 2.5m of the awesome peony colourway...
I left the shop about an hour later, and only then because I didn't want to be late for school pick up!
I needed a couple of FQs for a commission; so we had most of the bolts off the shelves, many more than once; it was a team effort, and we got there in the end. Maybe if we had stopped laughing and taken it all a bit more seriously I would have been out the door 45 minutes quicker, but where's the fun in that?
I may also have ended up with another fabulous scrap bag, specifically for a couple of little projects the girls had requested and I had promised.
So all promises kept, and smiles all round; that's what it is all about eh!
I want to go visit them in person too. Maybe when I'm not trying to be on a fabric diet though?! LOVE the scrap bags you keep teasing us with!
ReplyDeleteThe ST quilt is going to be gorgeous! Can't wait to see what you're going to make with the rest of the pile!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a proper hardship ;) What a lovely LQS, you're very lucky. And gorgeous backing for the ST quilt!
ReplyDeleteThat scrap bag is awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh you are such a good girl! Jxo
ReplyDeleteYay for happy shopping trips!
ReplyDeletePromises, smiles AND fabric? Perfect!
ReplyDeleteAhh, I do love spending time in fabric shops! It's so nice to have one where you can play with all the fabric before you buy it :-)
ReplyDeleteDucks, bunnies and whales, I approve!
ReplyDeleteTime spent in fabric shops is an activity in itself...it's not just about buying stuff!
ReplyDeleteLots of great makes, and good luck in the BQF!
ReplyDeleteOh how I would love to visit for real! I certainly keep them busy with my almost weekly online orders!! (I wonder when I will qualify for complimentary backing...now there's an incentive to make a ST quilt!!) Sounds like you had great fun and I love all those gorgeous pinks :-))
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to pop in last year on my visit to Sussex, sadly no time for fabric shopping when I visit Nan again next weekend :-(
ReplyDeletePretty in pink - good choice!
