*** Edited to say, the offending site is now down - Power to the Quilters***
Oh the fun and games of the bloggy world!
If you are reading this blogpost via quiltpatternspro.com, then please come over to my actual blog flyingblindonarocketcycle.blogspot.co.uk, because quiltpatternspro.com have no right to have re-posted this or any of my posts on their site.
Today it appears that the above site got rumbled for having been stealing blogposts from many, many quilty bloggers; big names, little names they are all there.
The problem? There are no links back to the original bloggers, but lots and lots of money-making links for unsuspecting folks to click through and make them a bunch of dollars.
Now when I was newly blogging I signed up to Quilerblogs.com, and it remains one on my main referral sites for which I am obviously grateful for and fully endorse. Quiltpatternspro.com on the other-hand seem to have hijacked their feed, do not have my permission, and are taking my and other's posts without asking, which as far as I am concerned is theft, pure and simple.
So please check out the site, run a search for yourself and your blog, (oh yes they have a handy search-doh!), and if you appear, then please leave a comment at the bottom of the Patterns tab; you'll see a lovely collection building up already, and then contact their webhost, this post of Alison's, ironically re-posted onto the quiltpatternspro.com feed (double-doh!), is great and tells you how. You can obviously vent your ire even if you have not been mugged, or don't even have a blog; I am sure the site and more importantly webhost would love to hear from you!
Thanks to The Bitchy Stitcher Megan for alerting everyone, and Elita and Kerry for thinking of me.
Let's hope this site gets taken down soon, and no-one clicks those links!
It's disgusting.
ReplyDeletemy posts are all up there too. makes me sick.
ReplyDeletea ton of my posts are there. I sent a letter to GoDaddy threatening legal action if they don't take that site down. This is the reason why I truncate all of my posts but I as was going through the list, there was one I must have forgotten to do.
ReplyDeleteNot popular enough here, although I appear on other people's nicked posts! I'll be intrigued to see if any action gets taken.
ReplyDeleteOooh I'm getting an error message when I click on the link to their site, I wonder if it's been taken down???
ReplyDeletePS thank you so much for alerting us all to this!
ReplyDeletethat's rotten.
ReplyDeleteI think the power of good bloggers has won the day! Jxo
ReplyDeleteI think they're gone! They had my (brilliant) posts up there too - I was so furious I was nearly paralysed. Gleeful that they seem to have been put in their place.
ReplyDeleteCheeky buggers ! Looks as if they've been banished from cyber world, and good riddance!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Red Alert...I went to check them out but kept getting the 500 Internal Error Server...so looks as if it may have been removed.
ReplyDeleteYou may want to contact your web server (blog) provider. If they are not amenable to help you address the problem...I would contact their provider. Also you may ask your provider about how and who to contact in law enforcement. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHow bad is that, although as others have said the site appears to have been taken down. Well said!! xo
ReplyDeleteGlad the site got taken down. It's flaming cheek.
ReplyDeleteSlightly insulted that none of my posts were stolen;) I loved watching everyone getting riled up yesterday, and rightly so! I went over to the site and straight away saw your comment WITH ALL THE CAPITALS! Great news that it's been taken down - never p**s off a quilter!
ReplyDeleteYEAH for getting it taken down!
ReplyDeleteSo glad the site got taken down - hope it doesn't come back up!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Should I be insulted or pleased that they didn't pinch any of my posts?!!!
I was quite amused to see none of mine were stolen - I clearly don't blog enough to make it worth stealing :-)
