Extremes...

Just a couple of pics for you this evening.

I managed a half decent photo of my Midnight At The Oasis progress, despite the rain, hail and general darkness that prevailed today...

And I also pieced my long-awaited Stitch Tease II quilt top; I made the 25th block from the siggies, but forgot to get a picture of that, but here is a shot of as much as I could get in, whilst hanging it in the conservatory...

I am loving how both of these are turning out; just as I had hoped and some!

My only dilemma is that I now have two quilt tops ready and waiting, LV Vomit and my 'Hadley - Gypsy Shawl', but the backings need to be pieced, and the thought of basting them is the last thing I feel like doing at the moment.   It feels quite overwhelming, which I know is daft, but I can't decide which one to finish first.

I think I will concentrate on a couple of smaller makes that I have on the go for now, and come back to them in a week or so.  The relief of having major health issues ruled out is now being overtaken by the sickness that the magic tablets cause; they are now taking their toll, and I am getting fed up of the whole bloody thing!

Hey ho, there was happy mail too though, Lego (yay!), a good book and some fabric, so on balance it was a good day xxx

  2. Why don't you send the finished quilt tops to Emily to baste on her frame? Hope you're managing to take it easy still, xx

  5. I know exactly what you mean, basting is a knackering thing when you're not 100%. Send them to Emily!!! Glad the major nasties are ruled out though, and yay on the lego delivery!

  10. You are surprisingly productive for one that is not feeling very well! Your MATO is just stunning - I love it!!!! And good call on a LV scrap vomit. I swear looking at my full volume version is damaging to the cornea. Hope everything rights soon and you are feeling like yourself again.

  13. Fabulous quilt tops, I would be happy to just admire them for a while if I was you! Hope the side effects of your medication disappears soon.

  14. Gorgeous quilt tops! Glad all seriousness is ruled out health wise :) maybe you could let the quilt tops tell you which wants finished first after they've perculated for a while?

  15. Loving that LV Vomit still. Very swish now that it is coming together. And your MATO is divine! Super colour choices.

  16. Flip a coin, because I certainly couldn't decide which quilt top gets priority. And, as you know, I'm all about small projects right now. They're the best!

  17. your midnight at the oasis quilt is soooooooooo pretty!

  18. midnight is wonderful, but both are great. I wouldn't even think about basting them now, small projects are the way to go at this busy time of year....and there is the whole of 2014 to go.
Glad the biggies have been ruled out, hopefully the medication will stabilise soon.

  19. Which to quilt first? What a dilemma to have as they are both gorgeous. I hope that the medication induced side effects settle down and you feel well soon. Di x

  20. They will get done when the time is right. And yes the real pain with the majority of medication is they cure one problem and give you others in side effects. I hope things settle for you soon x

  22. I think we may be on the same magic tablets... if so it does get a lot better, I've taken them for about 4 years now and I feel like a normal human being 363 days of the year ;) Love your Midnight progress, I have been waiting ages for a picture!

  23. If you need rest, you need rest. Don't push yourself - these pretties can wait. Your Riot of Color medallion is just super. All of that hand piecing is totally paying off.

  24. gorgeous both...and yup I know all too well what you mean about the to do list being overwhelming. I have lost count of how many quilt tops are in my to finish pile. I would ban myself from making any more but I would only let myself down...

  25. Loving that Midnight quilt - so rich, how big is it destined to be?
    Glad you are getting better.

  26. I love both of these beauties. I agree about getting Emily's help on the basting, but also, there is no rush, make being all the way better a priority too.

  27. Basting the quilt tops is the reason why I only have quilt tops, not finished quilts. They are both going to be beautiful. Just take your time and feel better.

  28. Best healing methods...rest and treat yourself right. Send it out to be done by whoever this Emily is and give yourself a break!

  29. On the plus side, what a nice problem to have! I think you should do the scrap vomit first as it'll make you think of all the lovely people who made the blocks :D (oh, and def send them to Emily, I sent her little man's quilt even though it was less than 40" square!)

  30. You are celebrating Lego? I am impressed! The tops look amazing! You really rock but take a break if you need to!

  31. Glad the Lego arrived safely. Loving the quilt tops

  32. Yay, my ellies are right side up :oD Hope you're feeling better now

  33. glad it was a good day. Take care of yourself. Basting is my least favorite. It hurts my back and my knees and I spray baste. I can't imagine using pins. Then I would never quilt my own.
    hugs to you Hadley
