Here we are again!
July was a bit hot and busy eh!?
End of work and school with the obligatory tonne of end of term activities and pièce de résistance Fat Quarterly Retreat. I came home with these, which I fully intend to turn into things of beauty soon...
There was a lot of prep work, both fabric and psychological, for FQR, but I did manage to get a bit of stitching under my belt too.
Bee blocks...
... and also a few other bits and pieces, including the start of a covered notebook obsession and 40+ key fobs...
August has started hot and sunny; I have my Stitch Tease Bee block instructions for the month, and just finished my Siblings Together block already, and I am not really hoping for anything more than those, to be honest.
If the past week of the school holidays is anything to go by, I will achieve next to nothing except a sore throat and headache from shouting at the kids and banging my head against the proverbial.
Oh well, no change there then.
Linking up with Lynne and the other Fresh Sewists x
I have been banging my head too, you are not alone!
ReplyDeleteSchool holidays. Aren't they fun?!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous month!!
ReplyDeleteHey what a great month you've had. Can't wait to see what you turn the FQR stuff into - it's already looking gorgeous. Oh and why don't you make a quilted wall cushion to save your head a bit when you bang it against the wall ;-)
ReplyDeleteI think Jan has a great idea there! Hope you manage to get some time to yourself to sew this summer :D
ReplyDeleteWeren't you busy! Lovely makes xx (I am a few weeks ahead of you into the summer holidays and there is a hole in the wall from all the head banging)
ReplyDeleteGlad it's not just me with a sore throat then! :o)
ReplyDeleteNot a bad wee collection for the month! Up here it seems to be the kids screaming their heads off. Alas, no signs of sore throats yet. Little barstewards...
ReplyDeleteNice makes, I should see if I made a single thing last month that is finished. I hope your holidays settle, surely there is some kind of bribery that will help.
ReplyDeleteHope you and the kidlets make it through the summer without permanent damage! If you find yourself wishing you were back at work then you'll *know* you need to call in reinforcements!
ReplyDeleteI am loving how your achitextures cathedral windows are coming along, can't wait to see how they look as they grow! We need to arrange another Brit Bee meet up so you can teach me your hard earned curved epp skills too.
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely makes despite the distractions. I am really looking forward to seeing what you do with your cathedral windows. As for the kids.... Right of passage m'dear. Di x
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing your things of beauty.
ReplyDeleteYou will be back to packed lunches before you know it!
I'd be obsessed with those notebooks, too. Good luck with the kids!
ReplyDeleteafter making some drawstring bags I did think book covers should come next. addictive you say? lets see....xxx
ReplyDeleteI love your class projects from FQR but I live all the things you make.
ReplyDeleteThe only advantage of being older than you is that the school holidays is mostly a breeze :-) Love your projects
