Big Screen Random...

Despite it being the school holidays, I was seriously lacking in the Random department until today, but I think I can just about hold my own.

5 tenuous facts relating to going to the cinema...

1. If you plan going out for an indoor activity, the sun is bound to come out, it is the law!

2. If you tell the kids they can choose some sweets to eat during the film, they may be a little over-optimistic!

3. If you pop into The Eternal Maker, before going into the cinema, because it is coincidentally conveniently next door, you will never just come out with the reel of Aurifil 2021 you went in for, especially if you have been dreaming of little fussy cuts since receiving your copy of Patchwork Please!

4. If you go and see an animated kids film, with only one name you recognise, it is bound to be a bit rubbish, so why are you surprised?

5. If you pop into John Lewis at Home after the film just for sewing machine needles, and you promise all those left in the car that you will only be a minute, you will bump into a really nice old lady who will give you lots of needle advice in trade for picking your brains about her new walking foot.

I am prepared!
It's not all popcorn you know!

Linking with Cindy's randomness and then getting on with finishing my Aeroplane Bag; I've just got the turning gap in the lining to hand stitch closed and I am ready to jet off somewhere!  xxx

  6. Did the family left waiting in the car while you got said needles believe the story about the old lady?

  7. The John lewis conversation sounds like a fair trade! Looking forward to seeing your bag :) x

  8. LOL... I remember sitting through some really bad movies in my young child days! I had no quilt shop near the theater though.

  9. Ha! The sun comes out, even the daffs are finally out, and we went indoors to roller disco! Was the film good? The kids keep asing to go...

  10. But did you get into the film for free??!!And you could be arrested in Australia for leaving kids in the car on a a sunny day!!!

  11. I think you deserved a trip to EM for sitting though the film, a few more years Gond you can go to EM INSTEAD of going to the film!!!

  14. Ha, I refused to see The Croods- I paid the vacation care program to take her, so I didn't need to waste 2hrs of my life!! Load of rubbish I thought!

  15. Haha this post made me laugh more than once! I wish seeing the movies could always involve this much sew-talk!

  18. So glad I'm past the 'unbearable kids films' stage! Jxo

  19. I miss going to see Shrek and Toy Story !! guess a 19 year old doesn't want his mum going to the movies with him!! and I guess I would not want to see whatever he wanted to see anyway!

You do realise that you can't use that one again!! ... you know ! "I'll just be a minute kids - just need a reel of thread!!" you will have to come up with a new story!

Enjoy the rest of your holidays,
    Cheers from Helen

  20. What a shame they are not old enough to park at the cinema & you get 2 hours in the lovely shop. Don't worry the time will come.
I still love Monsters Inc, Toy Story, Bugs Life etc. Have been told the movie Brave with the redheaded heroine is good but no kids to take to see it & The Prince draws the line at kids movies. *Lord of the Rings, James Bond et all are not considered kids movies. LOL
I really must try to get to Chichester somehow, difficult with no car. Oh well, just have to suffice with my room FULL of fabric! LOL

  23. Ahh, I take it they're learning to read with phonetics? o.O I'm a sucker for a good Disney animation, but the emphasis is on good, and the trailer for this one isn't winning me over!

  26. Haha frooty polos for me then!

Isn't there a nearer cinema to you than Chichester?? Poor you having to go all that way!

  27. I so adore the phonetic spelling (as I've said before)! My husband I rotate who takes the kids to see animated films each holidays. Must be my turn! The Croods is not something I wanna see, and luckily they're not asking!
