The sun appeared at long last, so we made the most of it this morning and went for a walk at The Warren, a local wood/heathland frequented by every dog walker for a 50 mile radius it would appear; but fresh air, and a nice bench to sit on whilst the kids ran about, was just what we needed after the last week, OK, 3 months of snow and bitter cold!
If the miracle of sunshine wasn't enough, after lunch, I baked!!!! Banana bread, edible banana bread at that. Our oven is probably not the most accurately calibrated, fine for heating things up, but not what a master baker would require.
The recipe was courtesy of the Moshi Monsters magazine, again... I wonder what I will make next month!?
Whilst the banana bread baked, and the Grand National pre-show went on in the background, I made my second block for Ceri.
This is a lovely Brit Bee month; guided improv, I can just about cope with. Last month Ceri asked us to post a doodle in the flickr group. This was mine...
Clever old stick that she is, screen printed all our doodles to then be included in our blocks, which were to be based on this from Ashley-FITF.
So yesterday I made this one...
Ceri has masterminded such a wonderful plan, I really really can't wait to see what an amazing quilt our combined efforts produce.
My Liberty charms also arrived today, but they, and my Marcelle Medallion deserve a post to themselves, so you can see more of those tomorrow. For now, I have a date with a Sky+'d Doctor Who and a rotary cutter xxx
Glad that you can breathe again! Those blocks are brilliant with the screen printing in them. I hope that Dr Who survived his encounter with the rotary cutter! Di x
ReplyDeleteHappy that you're feeling better! We got snow again yesterday and that makes 7 months that it's snowed over here…. I love winter but man, this year is out of control. I feel like I ate the whole cheesecake of winter and if I see one more piece….
