#busy

Today we had an early morning appointment for the girls to get their hair cut, so obviously dear son had to have ago under the space helmets...

There was a trolley dash and house clean, and even a little bit of secret sewing, all whilst the rain beat down outside...

We then headed out to the cinema.  At 2 minutes to 5, having spent a frustrating amount of time in the ring road traffic, I managed to get into The Eternal Maker and grab a couple of spools of Aurifil 2021 just before they closed.

I have since spent a couple of hours of my life, that I will never get back, watching Epic.  It was better than The Croods; it looked pretty, but there was no adult wit, and not a vast amount of story, but the kids loved it.  I got to eat a bag of Malteasers.

So now back home, exhausted, watching a chap in Dubai zooming along on a Juki making flags, and I think that's my lot for the day.

Hoping to play catch up and take it a little easier tomorrow.  Maybe.

Big Screen Random...

Despite it being the school holidays, I was seriously lacking in the Random department until today, but I think I can just about hold my own.

5 tenuous facts relating to going to the cinema...

1. If you plan going out for an indoor activity, the sun is bound to come out, it is the law!

2. If you tell the kids they can choose some sweets to eat during the film, they may be a little over-optimistic!

3. If you pop into The Eternal Maker, before going into the cinema, because it is coincidentally conveniently next door, you will never just come out with the reel of Aurifil 2021 you went in for, especially if you have been dreaming of little fussy cuts since receiving your copy of Patchwork Please!

4. If you go and see an animated kids film, with only one name you recognise, it is bound to be a bit rubbish, so why are you surprised?

5. If you pop into John Lewis at Home after the film just for sewing machine needles, and you promise all those left in the car that you will only be a minute, you will bump into a really nice old lady who will give you lots of needle advice in trade for picking your brains about her new walking foot.

I am prepared!
It's not all popcorn you know!

Linking with Cindy's randomness and then getting on with finishing my Aeroplane Bag; I've just got the turning gap in the lining to hand stitch closed and I am ready to jet off somewhere!  xxx

Happy Day!

It has been officially declared the best birthday ever by the girls, not bad as it is their 6th already!

It was an early start, but I managed to delay the first request for presents from 5.15 to 7am!

The pressies went down a treat though - we hid the Leap Pads until last, as we didn't want one spoiling it for the other; the cases fit!  Spot the picture when Ms P spies what her sister is opening!

We went over to Chichester at lunchtime, I popped into Eternal Maker for a pit stop; Anna is in Japan, on a buying spree with the Man from Del Monte Kokka, so no nattering, well maybe just a little.

Wool felt, AMH voile, Echino deer with glasses & Cosmo thread = happy me!
McDonalds for lunch and then Madagascar 3D for the afternoon.  It was actually way, waay better than I was expecting, and the kids all absolutely loved it.

Home for birthday cake, lots of Leaping, and now all is calm.  Well they are probably definitely still playing in their beds, but we can't hear them, so a success for everyone!

I love days like these xxx

Mighty mitre...

Look at this, my most perfect corner ever!  OK so you are all yawning now, but this has taken me forever to master!

I started binding both doll's quilts this morning and will hopefully get a little more done this evening, but the HUG is getting first dibs on my sofa time.

It was so beautifully today, I hope you got to make the most of the sunshine!  So where was I all afternoon?  Stuck in the cinema watching Yogi Bear that's where.  Please just don't; if you only ever do one thing I ask, it's stay away from the bear, life is too short!

I believe in fairies...

Today we celebrated the girls' 4th birthday, (which is on Wednesday coming), with a trip to the Saturday Morning Pictures to see Tinkerbell with 5 friends and their lucky mummies.  This was followed by as civilised a lunch as seven 4 year olds can have!  Everyone had a lovely time, and as none of them had been to the cinema before, they were really well behaved and enjoyed every minute.

Last night I consoled myself with chocolate, today, half a meter of heat-resistant wadding, and my Cath Kidston 'Stitched' arrived!

This afternoon... we went house hunting... again...
