It also seemed like my MacBook was coming out in sympathy, but a couple of re-boots and a hard slap later and I brought it back to life; you win some, you lose some, eh?
So onto the day proper, making use of the early start, I had the main block of my Patchwork Please! embroidery pouch all sewn up before 10am; the points are not all perfect, but I love it...
I did then spend a disproportionate amount of time then pondering the rest of the pouch, but I want it to be just right.
We had a picnic lunch, on a windswept, freezing cold, heathland!! The sun never quite made it, any warmth was zapped by the Arctic blasts, so after an hour of asking the kids if they were ready to go, we finally upped sticks and came home...
I couldn't resist cracking on with the rest of the block once the kids were in bed though...

And so ends another weekend, and next week's is a long one - woo hoo xxx

ReplyDeleteIs it wrong that I'm smiling at the clean up operation after the hedgehog checked out? Very probably *snort* Pouch looks lovely and glad the kids can't feel the cold because it looks very parky indeed!

ReplyDeleteSo the gist was, that's a really lovely block and it's usually a sign if they're out in the day that something isn't right, and often they get attacked by wasps at that stage too which is pretty horrible and yet another reason to hate wasps!
The centre star fabric is like an optical illusion, it completes each of the other stars perfectly even nough they are all so different, amazing block, H xxx

ReplyDeleteBut to quote the block, it looks great! All that pondering has already paid off. Looking forward to seeing it finished. I spent an insane amount of time trying to arrange my HSTs yesterday as well. Layout progress is an absolute win, though, so screw getting anywhere fast. ;)

ReplyDeleteLove how the block turned out. That is the back ground fabric that you are using? My daughter kept trying to convince me to picnic on Saturday but I was the one who just couldn't take the lack of sun and the cold breeze, I think she would picnic in a blizzard if I let her :)
