Monday 5 December 2011

I don't like Mondays!

...and today started even more despicably than usual!

In the shower, shampoo a-bubbling nicely, then the lights, electric shower and everything else went OFF!

So a lot of shouting to the kids finally produced a plastic jug from the kitchen, to finish the rinsing and then I had the delight of the school run with very cold wet bad hair and the realisation that it wasn't a full-on power cut (outage), just us.

All credit due, the Electricity guy was here within an hour, just when I had resigned/consoled myself to a morning off work and some owl action; and he had it all fixed in about 15 minutes.  I was in work an hour late but all was illuminated and switched on in the FB homestead again, phew.

So I only have these Christmas pressies that are destined for my sister to show you today...

A laminated/PVC zippy pouch, made from an A4 sample and Kona Aloe...

Check out those zipper ends!

And a muted heart brooch, which I promise to put in the post and not keep!

Tonight I am planning to go bigger than owls, for my Dad's birthday, so hopefully I will have something fun to show you tomorrow.

  10. You only have a power outage like that when it is the most inconvenient time. Never when you are having a lie in, tea already made and iPad fully charged. Glad they fixed it quickly and nice pouch! You are a zipper supremo now!

  13. Sod's law dictates that disasters like that power cut are reserved for the most inconvenient moments - shampoo on head, spreadsheet you've been working on (unsaved) all afternoon... Glad the power man came out and fired you up again quickly though!

Great tip on those samples, thank you, and love your wee pencil case and heart :o)

  16. The water always goes off when your hair is full of shampoo, I am certain it must be some kind of universal law. I hope you day has improved, mine started at the dentist with my older boy, it turned out it was not the expensive filling, it was a more expensive option. Sign, maybe Mondays should be banned.

  22. Wow! That's a morning! I have had power failures and fire-alarm issues with every building I've ever lived in and have been caught in the shower more than once so I know how not-awesome it is. Getting out of a shower with wet feet in total black is not something I care to repeat! Glad to hear everything's fixed.

  23. How do you manage to get so much into a day? Work. home. kids. shopping. cooking, washing, cleaning, etc., ... and all this too ... I always thought I managed a lot but can scarcely find a moment to finish off all the Xmas gifts I have on the go and I don't work.
    Zips (and gift) are great.
