What a difference...

... a day makes!

At 6.30am it was still snowing, blowing a gale and school was closed for the day; thanks to a nice early text, we didn't have to do the full getting ready routine and then find out, for a change.

By lunchtime the sun was out, time for a little fun and by teatime, any snow that had seen the aforementioned sunshine was all but gone...

So I got an impromptu extra sewing day, and started on my Orbit top; which I am hoping to get finished tomorrow.  Every bloody print is directional though, unlike my (miserly) cutting, so I had to cast caution to the Siberian wind and just not stress about it...

Oh, and I am back here in full blogging glory, after giving my MacBook a good shaking!  Not what a Mac Geni-arse would suggest I am sure, but it worked, and after a day of trying all the proper technical mularky, that was good enough for me!

  1. I am so glad I didn't pick any directional prints! Good luck with it! We've still not had any snow but it is incredibly cold. Hope you're back to normal tomorrow!

  2. An extra sewing day - what a bonus. The orbital looks nice and the directional thing will be less of a bug bear once it is finished. Di x

  5. I had a computer at work once that only worked with a good kick about once a week. God knows what I shook loose in there over the years!

  8. That is exactly what the Geni-arses would do, just in a more wanky fashion ;-)

  12. Orbit is looking awesome! I always try a bit of 'the Fonz' style hitting technical things. My digital camera totally wouldn't work, I banged it on the table and it's been fine ever since!!

  13. Lucky you, and I knew you were a bunch of southern softies, that's not real snow you fakers! ;o) I usually do the usual very techy, switch it off and back on again, and if it still doesn't work then, then hit it!

  22. Love the quilt top...bit of a nuisance when the pattern is directional but like you say you just have to go for it and it will look great in the end.

  23. A good shake is always good, also a bit of smack on the side, for any computer I find. I really love the Orbit and the snow sounds fun.
