... a day makes!
At 6.30am it was still snowing, blowing a gale and school was closed for the day; thanks to a nice early text, we didn't have to do the full getting ready routine and then find out, for a change.
By lunchtime the sun was out, time for a little fun and by teatime, any snow that had seen the aforementioned sunshine was all but gone...
So I got an impromptu extra sewing day, and started on my Orbit top; which I am hoping to get finished tomorrow. Every bloody print is directional though, unlike my (miserly) cutting, so I had to cast caution to the Siberian wind and just not stress about it...
Oh, and I am back here in full blogging glory, after giving my MacBook a good shaking! Not what a Mac Geni-arse would suggest I am sure, but it worked, and after a day of trying all the proper technical mularky, that was good enough for me!
I am so glad I didn't pick any directional prints! Good luck with it! We've still not had any snow but it is incredibly cold. Hope you're back to normal tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteAn extra sewing day - what a bonus. The orbital looks nice and the directional thing will be less of a bug bear once it is finished. Di x
ReplyDeleteGotta love a snow day, sew day! I love this orbit pattern and yours has my seal of approval!
ReplyDeleteHow nice, a bonus sewing day! That looks like a lovely pattern, have to try it some time... Love the colours by the way!
ReplyDeleteI had a computer at work once that only worked with a good kick about once a week. God knows what I shook loose in there over the years!
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking about you as they mention W.Sussex on the weather forecasts - good to hear you have got some sewing time in :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a crazy amount of snow!!!!! Loving the extra sew day, I think the directional prints will be totally worth it! x
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what the Geni-arses would do, just in a more wanky fashion ;-)
ReplyDeleteOrbit looking brill. Mental weather.
ReplyDeleteLove the sneak peek of Orbit! I hope you didn't have to swap your day off and are getting two mid-week sewing days in a row!
ReplyDeleteMagic shaking powers eh? Gonna give me a good shake in london please?!
ReplyDeleteSnow day, sew day. Lucky duck!
ReplyDeleteOrbit is looking awesome! I always try a bit of 'the Fonz' style hitting technical things. My digital camera totally wouldn't work, I banged it on the table and it's been fine ever since!!
ReplyDeleteLucky you, and I knew you were a bunch of southern softies, that's not real snow you fakers! ;o) I usually do the usual very techy, switch it off and back on again, and if it still doesn't work then, then hit it!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have a snowy sewing day - your Orbit quilt is looking lovely!
ReplyDeletePah. That's not snow! It's snowed for two days solid here, no flights/boats since Sunday and we made the national news last night!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to have you back Mac-ing along :) Just go with the swing of you quilt. It's going to be lovely :)
ReplyDeleteNo snow with me - though it is all around us on the map - maybe snow isn't talking to us!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love your orbit peek. Those colours are beautiful together :-)
No snow here, thank goodness! Loving those orbits - it's such a lovely pattern! Jxo
ReplyDeleteI started laying out my orbit along.. oh my goodness, i was getting such a headache! I'm hoping to make some progress this weekend
ReplyDeleteOrbit is going to be another beauty!
ReplyDeleteyou are just having one good quilting day after another. The Orbit will look fabulous no matter what direction the prints are going.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt top...bit of a nuisance when the pattern is directional but like you say you just have to go for it and it will look great in the end.
ReplyDeleteA good shake is always good, also a bit of smack on the side, for any computer I find. I really love the Orbit and the snow sounds fun.
