Marching along...

Well that's another one that flew by eh?!

Here's the mosaic...

More than I thought.

The Stained has now been mega-sashed since the photo; I was pondering hand-quilting it - but I think I will shuffle away slowly from that idea and back to the trusty machine; it needs more thought.

I am linking up as always with Lynne for Fresh Sewing Day.  If you don't follow Lily's Quilts, please check out the cause she is currently championing.  Under the heading of Giving Something Back.

Lynne has rallied the quilting troops to try to make 50 quilts before the summer for Siblings Together, an organization that arranges camps for brothers and sisters separated by the care system...

Quilts for Siblings Together

Maybe you can help too?

You could make a whole quilt, or maybe some blocks, provide fabric for others, anything to help depending on your time and resources; please check out the flickr group for more details.

I won a FQ stack of Robin Zingone's Stockholm from Katy late last year, and it has sat here, unsure of its purpose until now.  Too 'old' for the girls, too 'teen' for me, perfect for this!

So yesterday I set to it.  I'd ordered that Klona Pomegranate from Backstitch specifically for this project, and I think it looks lovely...

I have pieced the back (99% Pomegranate), and made up the binding, I just need to get my hands on some wadding.  Its not the biggest quilt in the world, c.52"x 60", but I reckon it's a good size for young lady.

So, whaddaya waiting for!? x

  14. Great mosaic! Love your siblings together quilt - the pomegranate is perfect. It is a great cause, will have to see if we have something similar in Oz. I'd love to help, but postage to the UK is scary, and I'm sure we have a similar local organization...
