If only...

... everything in life was as easy as sewing a buttonhole!

I thought I should have a practice to make sure I was going down the right route with the '90 Cake', which I am so happy you all love, thank you.  In theory, just in case I needed time to come up with a 'plan B', but basically, I am sorted!

Clip on the foot, pop in the button, press 'start'.

That's it!

OK then cut the fabric and have a chat with the little 'mouth' for a minute, but it literally took no time at all.  Brilliant.

The 'start/stop' button and FMQ idea is another story, which I'll save the photos of for Friday!  But one thing I have learnt and you may wish to take heed or snigger at, polycotton is not your friend.

It might be cheap and you might think using up the scraps you have would be a good idea, but no, it is a slippery, so slippery, tension-muddling, backside-wrecking idea to surpass all others!  Just saying.

It's only Monday, it's cold, dark, blowing a gale so I've got a Winter Stitching Plan to write; I may be gone some time, wish me luck x

  1. Well done on the buttonhole - did it have much to say for itself?! Enjoy writing your winter plan!

  3. Wonder if my machine can do that? Probably can somewhere deep in its untried abilities, but can't be arsed today. It's my motto today. So far it has worked at helping me accomplish just about nothing.

  5. My machine can apparently sew a button on - but it looks like a recipe for disaster and a blunt needle so never looked into that. I think it can do button holes but I think it's a lot more complicated than just putting on the foot and...

  13. Generally speaking, I am not much of a list maker but because I enjoyed reading all your lists (you and others) I have decided to play along this time. This should be interesting. All the way to February?? LOL

  14. I certainly agree and wish as well that life was as simple as sewing! But as that is a very true statement and since life is not that simple, here is a point you need to remember: It is not only the month for Halloween, but breast cancer awareness month!!! Treat yourself or a loved one because you care! I am just stopping by with a reminder to do your self breast exam.
Here's a fun place to start! Everybody loves boob lube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p8pIHy2GRI
