Legoland 2012

We have made the annual trip to Legoland for 3 years now; the kids love it, and using good old Tesco reward vouchers it is pretty painless too.

It was much as always, although this was out first weekend or school holiday visit, so it was a bit more crowded and the queue times a little longer; but we managed 9 rides/features in about 7 hours, so everyone was happy and the ends of tethers were not reached.

We headed straight for Atlantis (again) as soon as the gates were open and were underwater in about 5 minutes - so my top tip is to head for the one ride you really want immediately and the rest of the day, que sera sera.

The other attraction on our list was the new Star Wars Miniland exhibition - possibly the most impressive as far as the actual Lego goes, and as we waited until the end of the day we just strolled right in and walked through at our own pace with only a few other folks for company.

The wasps may have been a little too abundant, and the attractions of the Continent now looking a little faded, but we will be back again next year I have no doubt.

  1. Looks like you had a great day. We went with our daughters and their families a couple years back and we all loved it...must go again when they are all here next time

  5. I went for the first time ever last week. We were also there as soon as it opened and headed for the driving school. The queue was much bigger when we'd finished that. We also used Tesco vouchers. Seriously, who pays full price? It's ridiculous! I don't have children , but expect to go back soon. My friends daughter loved it!

  10. OMG!! I must know of the Tesco voucher thing!! I wanted to go & stay in the pirate room for my birthday this year but they were booked out solid!
I did get a lovely Singer Featherweight instead so not so hard done by but still want to go to Legoland!!
I used to know someone who was a Lego constructor. Essentially paid to build Lego all day!! Score!! Mind you it would probably be like working in a sweet shop, it might get boring eventually??

  13. My 9 YO grandson is such a Lego wizard and we have LegoLand only 1 hour away and we have never taken him. We are bad grandparents. He'll soon out grow the rides. We better make it a priority. Looks like you guys had fun.
