...well it was, for 6 whole hours.
The kids all merrily trooped off to school this morning, and I had the house to myself for the first time since the beginning of the holidays, all barr about three-quarters of an hour a couple of weeks ago!
I was home by 9am; by 9.30 I had whipped up a new lanyard for work, (heck, I have been wearing the standard issue too long, and if I have to be there, I'd like a little FMF for company!)...
Then I parked myself out in the garden and stitched some more of my Spring Carnival...
Obviously by 3.30pm all semblance of relaxation and calm had been forgotten, but it was lovely whilst it lasted.
mine were supposed to be back at school today, and we got all the way there before discovering that it was closed because of a burst water main. I swore. Quite a lot.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I may be a bit jealous. Ok, I'm actually very jealous...
ReplyDeleteIt was rather nice to hear the school bus pull out of the village this morning leaving me in a quiet house! Summer has ended. Di x

ReplyDeleteGood for you! I waved my big miss, off and waited for the gas man, his delivery and,the plumber! An unexpected extension to my leave, back to the grind tomorrow :/
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm totally envious of the quiet time, and time to sew!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for school! It is good for the children and good for mums' sanity. Everyone's a winner! What a beautiful day to do some beautiful EPP x
ReplyDeleteLooks idyllic!
ReplyDeleteThat blue sky looks gorgeous! Glad you got some time to yourself today! Hope the return to work tomorrow is gentle! Jxo
ReplyDeleteHmph, glad someone's got nice weather! Know what you mean about the lanyards though, I refuse to be branded with the company name, so was wearing the basic issue string with white plastic balls (with the intention of making one when I had some spare time!) and then I found a Team GB one in Next, so that saved me for a while yet!
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful place to sit and stitch. I can't wait until it cools down here so I can sit on my porch again.
ReplyDeleteOh, it sounds so nice! Your garden looks lovely. Mine is all dirt and cactus. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteYep the big yellow bus is a welcome sight - let the new projects begin!
ReplyDeleteLovely indeed. I love September because almost always have a great weather.
ReplyDeleteSo glad it was a lovely sunny day for you to enjoy all to yourself.
ReplyDeleteFunny how 6 hours seems like a lifetime sometimes & others it's a blink of an eye.
Well done you for looking after yourself!
Lush x
