Would you?

Before I go all gun-ho and make a load of key fobs like these...

Would any of you who are coming to FQ Retreat be interested in buying one, either by accosting me in a corridor, or on Market Night?

I was thinking Liberty Lifestyle fabrics and a cost of £3 each or two for £5.

I will probably be making some for a school fair later in the year anyway, (not going to say the 'C' word), but don't want to cart them up to town for everyone to say, "Nice, but I could make them myself cheaper" and leave me looking all sad and rejected!

If I can build up the strength, I will ask in the flickr group too; but as I am more likely to get an honest opinion here, I'm asking you first.  Thank you.

Despite evidence to the contrary, I have been busy sewing this weekend.  I have a summer-weight AMH voile scarf all ready to have the opening hand-stitched closed this evening and an AMH voile Staple 'tunic' just needing all the threads snipping off.

My Stitch Tease quilt is halfway quilted, but that is really, really hard going, so I am calling it a day for today; 50 x 80" stitch lines done, 50 to go!  So hopefully I will have lots to show you in the week, although when decrepitude hits on Wednesday, I may be turning to you for tea and sympathy instead!

Hope you have had a constructive weekend, making the most of the typically awful weather in the UK, NZ or any other place with a lack of sunshine xxx

  3. It has been a very constructive weekend, inside anyway. It's poured intensely but I'm not complaining as one province over is flooded into a state of emergency!

Those are lovely. I won't make it to the retreat this year (transcontinental flights being so pricey and all) but there's a small chance I can make next year's as I'll be spending part of August in Scotland, and will be much handier. It will depend on dates… Keep your fingers crossed! :-)

  15. Yes please. Can I order two? Di x

  16. Absolutely. Go start an etsy store. So easy and so rewarding. You'll get better prices than the local "I can make that (cheaper)".

The etsy community better recognizes what it took to get to a finished product.

  21. Well I'm not going to any FQ Retreat but if I were I would certainly buy and would pay £5 each, they are certainly worth that. I have mine hanging on my new camera bag and just love it :) did you see my Ercol sofa finished on my blog? cant believe its finally done!

  22. I dodged the showers all weekend. I can totally get the nerves about selling stuff. I keep being asked to make and sell bags. I am just too scared to ask people to actually pay for my stuff. I never know what to charge. If I did I'd go self employed as a little sideline. I'm sure lots of people will buy a fob or two of yours though.

  23. See, will you have time to make enough after all these 'yes pleases'! They are wonderful (like you) I'd love one but I am likely to be broke at fqr because of some life changes (zzzzzz!) but if you have an ace money making scheme spare please tell me! Hope you are feeling better. Xxx

  26. I see everyone else is going to keep you busy, so I can't feel too bad in saying, sorry, they're too big for my pocket (as I don't do handbags!) Happy selling!
