I know some of you do too, you've mentioned it in the past.
I like to look and see if I am going to top the previous month's total views, (a bit OCD, I know...) and also where 'strangers' have popped in from.
On Tuesday, when I posted the Fugly giveaway result, I noticed a crazy record number of hits; now I knew there weren't that many people waiting to hear if they'd won.
So donning my Sherlock hat...
Gratuitous picture for Annabella! |
I feel rather chuffed to be on his Quilts board and the 'likes' and 'repins' are a bit of a morale boost too. Pinterest I heart you, I needed a 'pick me up' and you delivered.
As far as searches go, there seems to be a constant stream heading to the sock owl tutorial from waaaaaaaaaay back, but pretty much every month someone googles 'guns in car trunk' and ends up here, and they're probably rather disappointed! I know that is my fault, because of this post a year ago, but why are people googling it!? And obviously I am over the moon about the hit coming from a 'brown fabric' search this week!
Anyway, nuff 'bout me, did you know Singer have been making sewing machines for over 160 years? Have you seen this special edition beauty...
What fun! xxx
I do check my blog stats occasionally. It's amazing the stuff that people google that comes up. Unfortunately I wrote a post a couple of years ago about exercising and injuring myself. I had a picture of a sumo dress up suit on there and a very very unflattering pic of me. I soon removed the pic when I saw how many strangers were looking at that post after googling sumo suit.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of Michael Wurn, is that bad?
Oh my god, I want that sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteThis is funny! I am at this very moment agonizing about including some cinnamon colored (not exactly brown-brown) fabric in a quilt and I was thinking about throwing a post up to ask opinions. I think I might know what you would lean towards. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy blog stats are rarely as interesting as yours, although "felt friends from japan" pops up ALOT on my google searches. I wonder if they find what they need?
I don't know who he is but he clearly has very good taste! Have a lovely weekend x
ReplyDeleteHmm, I don't check my stats (I have such an aversion to stats, that when I was looking for a uni to go to to study maths and computer science, any that made you take stats got struck off the list immediately!) I might have to now though lol
ReplyDeleteI randomly check my stats but never have any fun search results. Congratulations on the pinning! Old Michael must be a pretty smart guy!
ReplyDeleteI get excited (sad I know) when someone from a different country reads my blog - I am aiming to turn the world green hehe!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to send that photo of the Singer to my mum....I think she will be asking does it come in Green though!
ReplyDeleteAh your stats mountains are looking a lot higher than mine!
I get a hit off Planes Trains and Automobiles all the time...I'm sure the collector is thinking 'What the......'
I rarely look at my stats because there's never anything interesting there/
ReplyDeleteI want to play with this machine. I wonder how much they are going to cost in the UK?
ReplyDeleteFunny post - thank you! I occasionally look at my stats, and I've just had a look at the search keywords and have got 'archie is a unique snowflake made of awesome.com', 'i'm as surprised as you are dog with pillow picture' (eh?) and (I think this is the best one!) 'the cutest dogs ever to roam the earth' - yup, we'll take that one!! Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteBe still my heart. But that`s NOT the best photo of BC...how I miss him. I might have to get the DVD out if I can ever get Kungfu Panda off. I used to be a bit OCD about stats but that`s because I only had about 3 hits a day. Now I`m less bothered and only look a couple of times a month. Thanks for the BC moment. Could you try and slip one in each post?
ReplyDeleteI think that guns in the trunk deserves a whole blog to itself... ;-)
ReplyDeleteI, of course, check the stats, why have them if you don't check them. Then I wonder why I care. Let me know if you have figured it out.
ReplyDeleteso funny! I glanced at Michael's webpage, and he's not sure why he's so popular on Pinterest either! (He's an innkeeper in PA & obviously has good taste!)
ReplyDeleteI've got a photo of my bare toes from last spring when the weather turned nice. Very disturbed by the people that brings in!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new blogger and I scold myself for the number of times I check to see if I have any comments or new followers. I'm a long way from being a stats checker but maybe someday I'll get there. :o)
ReplyDeleteI check my stats on a semi regular basis and am always slightly disappointed nothing exciting ever showers - like major spikes in traffic or strange key words. I need to put some more random in my posts I think :-)
ReplyDeleteI did check my stats once (after Susan had done a post about them I think) and someone had searched 'depressed quilter' and I found that so sad. Isn't that an oxymoron?!
ReplyDeleteI saw the special edition in person. It's all cheap plastic. Not all too fabulous in person.
ReplyDeleteI am OBSESSED with my blog stats. I do the same thing...check to see if I'll beat last month's hits. If I think I won't, I'll post on weekends just to get a few extra visits to "top it up" that month. Pathetic, I know....but if you see me with a Sat or Sun post, hit me twice please ;)
ReplyDeletewell, clearly I am missing something here as I have no idea how I would check my stats!!
ReplyDeleteLove the sewing machine!
I love stats too. Somehow I've recently come to be included in the google image results for "draw heart" which got really popular around Vday.
ReplyDeleteI check and re-check my stats daily. I am a web developer and my many sites are important to me. My quilting blog has just blasted off and it some what saddens me but its more successful then some of the sites that are important to me that I have been working on for years. But at the same time I am happy people love it. I am most amazed at the follower that are growing daily and that the average trend is going up up and away. I could just guess what your stats are like after years of this.

Stop by for my quilt givaway to guess my babys b-day and weight.
love that machine !!
ReplyDeletei have not a clue abouts stats but i will have a look !!
I just checked michael's page and my Christmas Table Runner is there too! Yes, he does have good taste! I do check my stats but don't usually come up with anything as interesting as yours!!!!
ReplyDeleteI jumped on the OCD blog stats bandwagon from the first. I am thinking about removing the ads. I kept them in because the ads I see are different from the ads you see.
ReplyDeleteI love all the statistical nonsense.
I get some totally off the wall google searches too: Pop Up Airplane is one.
I sometimes, knowingly, make my blog titles with this in mind.
The Singer looks lovely, shame to hear in a comment above that it's plastic fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how to check my stats - if anyone wants to fill me in, pls do!
Off to check out whatshisname on pinterest now! xx
I check my stats from time to time but they never have anything good to show me. I hardly get visitors to my blog. But the year is young.
ReplyDeleteLoving that singer machine. I'd just have a picture of it, I can imagine how expensive it'll be to buy
See! You do rock Hadley why even doubt it. As for the Singer I have seen it at the Quilt show last year and I must say it does look pretty snazzy.
ReplyDeleteI was facinated by this article as I also have no idea how you came up with that graph! Pinterest is so, so, so time wasting (I love it) and once found stops any hope of doing anything else for a good long while!
ReplyDeleteCute owl! Great to know I'm friends with someone who is mixing with the big nobs! Jxo
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through the small blog link-up. Although I’m a tad bit bigger at 344 followers and have been blogging since 2010, I still feel new at blogging because there’s so much to learn. I have learned however, that the quilting community is the most helpful, loving and caring group of people on the planet. In the last almost 2 yrs. I have actually made some very real friends and can’t imagine life without them in my life. LIke you, I check out my stats on a regular basis out of curiosity. I’m going to become one of your followers and invite you to become one of my new followers. Also, please fill out the follow by email box and you won’t forget about me. We live across the pond from each other but it should be fun to see what we both make.
