Inspired by this purse I saw in Cath Kidston the other week, and having claimed 'I can make one of those', it was time to put my money where my mouth was...
This one measures up at 6"x 8", uses a few of my prized Denyse Schmidt scraps, East of India heart ribbon, shell buttons and some shocking pink lining, and I am in love with it!
It's not perfect, but it's mine! Now I really do need to think of something to make for Valentine's Day and my sister's birthday, probably should have thought about those before, oops.
It is fab! Where will your stall be at the fq retreat so I can get mine ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have that "I can make that" mentality, but it doesn't always work out as well as yours! I object to paying 25 quid, just because it's Cath Kidson. Well, I wouldn't actually.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Jxo
ReplyDeleteBut what will you use it for? Surely you have more pouches now than Pouchy McPouch from Pouchville?!
ReplyDeleteGood idea and fab make. Looking forward to seeing it in June.
ReplyDeleteDi xo
Dare I say that it's prettier than the inspirational purse? Because it is. :)
ReplyDeleteMuch cuter than the original!
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely cuter than the original! Great job H!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree yours is cuter! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteLovely pouch, I am going to have to tackle my fear of zips! After 25 years we've kind of stopped doing valentines day, so I don't haveto worry about that one! Have a good half term x x
ReplyDeleteVery nice indeed. Love the pearly king/queen influences with those buttons.
ReplyDeleteStop! I can't live up to the London experience with you and your makes. I may have to stay home!!
ReplyDeleteI freak when I visit the Cath Kidston shop and always say I can make those things myself, but I haven't go round to it yet lol Your purse looks fab though!
ReplyDeleteFlip...your zips are so neat!
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely, you were very patient to sew on all those buttons! Thank you for the reminder to do something for Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeletewhat a fab little purse - you must have some patience to sew on the little buttons
ReplyDeleteVery cute, love the hot pink lining too! I used to have legwarmers in that colour :D x
ReplyDeleteYeah like you are going to stay home and miss the party Susan? And stop putting Susan off coming to London Hadley!
ReplyDeleteIt is very lovely though! All the elements and the combination!
Very cute!! Although I don't think you are going to have to bother with a name tag Hadley, you will be spotted and identified by your accessories ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are so rocking this London theme. Absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up RE the FQ flickr group. I joined in - it will be a great time :)
That zip pouch is so fine. You can send it to me if I am your partner...which I know I am probably not!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous UJ pouch Hadley...Cath who??
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful - much prefer your version!
ReplyDeleteAlmost makes me wish I was British! This is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I prefer your one. Much better than the original.
ReplyDeleteYep, gotta agree with what they all said :)
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo much nicer than the CK one! Way to go!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! Xx
ReplyDeleteOoh, this is nice - wish I had a fiver for every time I have said "I could make....."
ReplyDeletei love all of the buttons. so cute!
ReplyDeleteWhen I get the "i can make that" voice in my head, nine times out of ten its lying. Glad yours clearly speaketh the truth!
ReplyDeleteI love that "I can make that" voice.
ReplyDeleteI might need to go make one of these too.
***it's good and bad that we do not have Cath Kidston stores in Oregon.
- the internet store doesn't reach out and grab you as easily.
Oh - fit for a queen! xx
ReplyDeleteI love it! So much better than the original inspiration.
