Let there be light!

Please!!!  I am fed up of feeling like I am in northern Scandinavia with 24hr night-time, lights on all day, the most appalling photography opportunities and wearing 2 pairs of socks, indoors and none of the fun stuff, like snow, just rain, rain and more rain.

So the hot chocolate is helping me a little, but it is making blogging anything interesting a little difficult.

Today I collected my Siblings Together FQ bundle; I've never had a whole line FQ bundle in my mitts before, it's a lot of fabric!  I took an instagram snap, but that was on my phone and it's charging in the kitchen.  I am under a quilt in the living room, so you'll have to imagine what it looks like for now!!

I did make Susan's Stitch Tease blocks for February though, (yes Ange I know you are a girly swot, so give yourself a slice of pie for being first!!), but they are subject to the secret treatment for now, so here's a highly tampered shot to prove they exist...

And I have a finish!!  My #economyblockalong mini is complete, but the aforementioned lack of any good lighting meant I couldn't get a decent shot of the whole thing, so here are a few close ups and I will try again tomorrow...

I am going to stay snuggled up here for the evening, and write a long to-do list for when the sun comes out xxx

  3. Oh, it's so depressing, isn't it? I cut the 'logs' for two blocks ages ago, with the idea to take photos of my process for the group of beginner quilters I'm making a Friendship Quilt with. The light just make it impossible. Your economy blocks look great. I've seen quite a few popping up on IG.

  5. We had a snowpocalypse in Atlanta. 2-3 inches. NOT GOOD. Emergency dismissal yesterday. No school today or tomorrow. Did I mention my class play is two weeks from yesterday?

  9. Yep, know just what you mean. Totally fed up of rain and dark evenings. Really can't. E bothers to do much at all these winters evenings apart from snuggle under a quilt on the sofa. Roll on the summer!

  10. Well done on the finish! I need to churn out another dozen of so blocks before I can think about even turning mine into a top. We had sunshine yesterday and I was out walking in it with this open mouthed expression like people in Hollywood films do in their first post apocalyptic walk outside.

  11. Sooo fed up with the rain! But how long until we get a hosepipe ban???? I saw the fabric on Instagram, it looks like a piece of art, do you *have* to cut into it?

  12. Can't wait for a proper look at your economy block mini. Light is a problem at this time of year but at least it is getting lighter in the evening. Di x

  14. I feel the same, I have a finished quilt that's having to wait til the weekend for when I'm home in daylight hours, which means I won't have blogged in over a week, not like me.

  15. It snowed here today! I am wishing and dreaming of spring. I really like the economy block quilt. Does it still include Dick?

  16. I love the look of your mini quilt. Whenever I complain about the snow I try to remember that days and days of rain are usually harder to take. Stay warm and dry and comfy.

  17. YOUR ECONOMY BLOCKS ARE GORGEOUS! Your scrappy bits are beautiful colors that work so well together. Yippee for a finish!
I'm with you - struggling to get good light, to find inspiration and to keep warm. The birds were up singing when I went to work this AM, so that's promising!

  21. Those economy blocks are looking fabulous. I am such of the rain too. And worse is driving in it in the dark on the way to and from work. Roll on a hot dry summer

  22. I do hope you have an arc built and waiting in the yard. You have had your share of rain and mine too!

  23. Yeah, you could move down here and complain about the heat! Everyone does, whether you've lived here forever or chosen to settle. You know how weather affects moods, and constant grey and rain is depressing? Well, it works the other way too. Constant sun blazing and lack of rain can get people down too. I've heard of it in Australia, but in other places like Arizona too.
