The January Siblings Together Bee block, chosen my grandma-in-waiting Jenny was a nice gentle start to 2014.
Lovely Bluebird Park by Kate & Birdie from Moda...
This was surprisingly easy to make; I probably spent more time working out which of the fabrics were to be used for which part, and now I think my days of resisting the #economyblockalong are numbered.
PS. Happy New Year to our super sponsors...
And the oops... I succumbed to the fabric sales! Well just the one, and I absolutely dare you to ignore a bargain of 94p/FQ, that's £3.76/m folks!!!
I bought 4 meters of Tula Pink's Fern print, because I love it; (I used the 1/2m I had to bind my Marcelle Medallion), so I think I should be forgiven. There are plenty of other great bargains to be had over at Stitch Craft Create, just saying, as a favour, you know, not to ease my guilt... honestly!
I'm glad to see that I am not the only one who refuses to go on a fabric diet. That is a lovely block too.
ReplyDeleteI knew it!!! (Ribbing you that you,d only lasted four days, however, reminded me it's our 11th anniversary today and we're supposed to be having a romantic meal..... Which we both forgot!!! Oops!!)
ReplyDeleteCome to the dark side...join the economy block making....
ReplyDeletewell you could hardly leave that behind xx
ReplyDeleteohhh your evil, had to spend £50 to get free postage didn't I, there's a £5 off when you spend £15 discount code too SCC1979 worked for internationals ;) olfa blades were excellent price along with tula
ReplyDeleteA lovely block and a lovely oops!
ReplyDeleteHad to follow the link... should have read the comments first I suppose... no fabric diet here... may have to do the economy block too, if only to prove that I really need this fabric...
ReplyDeleteI also succumbed over there on boxing day, just awaiting its arrival!
ReplyDeleteGreat block! You evil temptress, I just spent a shed load over there!
ReplyDeleteGood evening, I found your blog from a mutual follower. I love that you make so many wonderful projects . . . there is so much inspiration here. Great blog. I am a late bloomer to quilting just started a few months ago and I am loving every minute of it. So much that I re-cycled my husband’s old saw horses and made myself a quilting frame, LOL. He never used them anyway :)
ReplyDeletePlease come over and help me celebrate my second year blogging anniversary :)
I'm your newest follower and blogging sister, Connie :)
Yep, like Reene, I've fallen off the wagon too thanks to your tip off! Jxo
ReplyDeleteI really want to start the economy blocks too. Your siblings together block is a good one.
ReplyDeleteYou are a bad influence I have just succumbed to the Sale too!
ReplyDeleteLove this block & really hope to try it in the new year! I'm with you on a fabric diet. I'm all for using my stash, but don't want to make any drastic moves like not add to it!
ReplyDeleteI, too, will 100% NOT be going on a fabric diet...I just need to sew more to keep up with my shopping :)
ReplyDeleteLovely block, missus.
Great block! I have just made mine this evening. Great link too. I came across them a couple of weeks ago, but glad I didn't buy anything as their prices have come down even more. Slightly disappointed to realise I have that lovely navy Tula already - haha!

ReplyDeletePretty block and nice fabric shopping. Di x
