Scatter-brained...

Today I don't think there was a single point when I was concentrating on just one thing at a time.

Having received my Fat Quarterly Retreat supplies list and workshop allocations, (so excited), I thought I would search through my stash and see if I could pull all the things I will need, but whilst doing that, I was putting things aside for Katy's Stitch Tease mega-block, planning a few other makes, and more...

I was cutting things and creating all sorts of piles; flitting between scraps for freezer paper piecing and FQs for cushions; remembering that I had other things in other drawers, and taking all morning.  In the end I don't think I have much extra to buy, which is a relief, and I'm glad I got an early start.

I was gratefully interrupted by the postman, arriving with Brit Bee fabrics and instructions from Terri...

We are star-making, and I will be making mini Constellations!

So having done my maternal duties in the school, ballet, catering departments, I got Katy's block made, whilst simultaneously doing the ironing.

Stitch Tease is a sneaky Bee - we are not allowed to post pictures of the finished blocks, only showing cheeky glimpses like this...

... and this...

Which is kind of frustrating, as I would love to show you all, but I can't!

I did have a bit of a wobble about my wibbly stitching.  FMQing is not my forte, so outlining my 'vehicle' of choice got me in a panic and resulted in an emergency email to Katy to check out her wobble-tolerance level.  Fortunately, she likes a bit of rough around the edges.

Well all finished now, except tying off the loose ends - I think it's going to be OK!

It appears that the world and his wife have decided to blog today - I will blast though my my reading list, so if I don't comment, it's nothing personal, it's because I am also watching The Apprentice, drinking tea and needing to get to bed before breakfast x

  3. Well that's Katy's reputation shot. ;-)
Glad to see you are ten times more organised than the rest of us then. I'll be scrabbling around for the retreat stuff two days before most likely.

  4. Hey now, you weren't meant to share that around... only with any eligible men you knew!

I've totally started packing for the retreat already lol

  6. I'm sure Katy's blog will be getting more visits from the rough end of the spectrum from now on!!

I admire your organisation in getting your retreat stuff together so far in advance - is that so you can pretend it's only a few days away rather than 30?!
