Today I don't think there was a single point when I was concentrating on just one thing at a time.
Having received my Fat Quarterly Retreat supplies list and workshop allocations, (so excited), I thought I would search through my stash and see if I could pull all the things I will need, but whilst doing that, I was putting things aside for Katy's Stitch Tease mega-block, planning a few other makes, and more...
I was cutting things and creating all sorts of piles; flitting between scraps for freezer paper piecing and FQs for cushions; remembering that I had other things in other drawers, and taking all morning. In the end I don't think I have much extra to buy, which is a relief, and I'm glad I got an early start.
I was gratefully interrupted by the postman, arriving with Brit Bee fabrics and instructions from Terri...
We are star-making, and I will be making mini Constellations!
So having done my maternal duties in the school, ballet, catering departments, I got Katy's block made, whilst simultaneously doing the ironing.
Stitch Tease is a sneaky Bee - we are not allowed to post pictures of the finished blocks, only showing cheeky glimpses like this...
... and this...
Which is kind of frustrating, as I would love to show you all, but I can't!
I did have a bit of a wobble about my wibbly stitching. FMQing is not my forte, so outlining my 'vehicle' of choice got me in a panic and resulted in an emergency email to Katy to check out her wobble-tolerance level. Fortunately, she likes a bit of rough around the edges.
Well all finished now, except tying off the loose ends - I think it's going to be OK!
It appears that the world and his wife have decided to blog today - I will blast though my my reading list, so if I don't comment, it's nothing personal, it's because I am also watching The Apprentice, drinking tea and needing to get to bed before breakfast x
I`ve heard that about Katy too hehe...and I love your block for her! Don`t bother about my post - it`s not very interesting although it is short on words.
ReplyDeletei cracked up at annabells comment! xo wish you could show more too!
ReplyDeleteWell that's Katy's reputation shot. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you are ten times more organised than the rest of us then. I'll be scrabbling around for the retreat stuff two days before most likely.
Hey now, you weren't meant to share that around... only with any eligible men you knew!
ReplyDeleteI've totally started packing for the retreat already lol
Have you actually packed your retreat bag already? ;-) x
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Katy's blog will be getting more visits from the rough end of the spectrum from now on!!
ReplyDeleteI admire your organisation in getting your retreat stuff together so far in advance - is that so you can pretend it's only a few days away rather than 30?!
Oh yes, we all know about Katy's passion for rough-around-the-edges...!
ReplyDeleteLol, I have a feeling Katy is well able for the rough edges.... But looks like you had a busy day. And I am jealous, jealous, jealous that you are going and I am not!
ReplyDeleteThat Katy - word is certainly getting around!
ReplyDeleteYou are just to organised for words Hadley - I shall just have to sneak by and disrupt things a bit!
I don't even know Katy but I'm off to read this wild woman's blog! Doesn't organizing feel great?
ReplyDeleteSo you prompted me to go check the supplies list..and now I think I need a ginormous suitcase - yeah, I've got to get my machine in, but really it'll be all the fabric I need for all those classes! x
ReplyDeleteWay to get your prep work done so far in advance. More time for partying at the retreat!
ReplyDeleteAh might have known you'd be starting on the supply list first ;-)
ReplyDeleteGood work on the packing, and I too have many blogs to catch up on.
ReplyDeleteOoo...hey, do we get a glimpse of all the supplies/fabric stacks? I'm experiencing envy here...
ReplyDeleteYou are ONE BUSY woman! I love the "cheeky" glimpse fabric!
ReplyDeleteHey now! You can send pictures to the rest of us!! I want to see!
ReplyDeleteI need all those bins to store my fabric, scraps and in progress projects. Stitch Tease...yeah. You can send a finished photo to everyone except Katy.
ReplyDeleteGoodness you are busy! Thanks for the 'glimpse' will look forward to seeing it finished ;)
ReplyDeleteOh no you've not staring getting organised have you? Now I feel inadequate!
ReplyDeleteInteresting to learn about Katy! Love the tease photos, but I just know I'm going to get confused and send or say the wrong thing to the wrong person!
Oh my goodness! Supply List! I hadn't even made the next step in my brain. Thank you for the nudge.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your blocks for Terri!
Good to see someone else with so many things hopping around their brain.
ReplyDeleteLove your wobbly bits! Jxo
ReplyDelete'Scatter brained' ... no! ... 'Overbrained' to be able to cope with so many things at once.
ReplyDeleteYour sewing area looks like mine and I have nothing to get ready for anytime soon. :) I love your "stitch tease"...but now I want to see more.
ReplyDeleteFM is nerve-wracking but the more times you go around the better it looks!
ReplyDeleteLol, love the workroom photo! Strip tease looks good
