I am fed up.
I have had enough of the wettest drought in history. I have helped a dozen 5 year olds to read this morning, so excuse me if I think I deserve to spend a little of my day off sat in the sun, relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet.
So I am going to snuggle up on the sofa like it was WINTER, because I can't take the sound of the rain on the conservatory roof any longer, and do some hand-stitching on the next project in the Zakka Sew Along - Nova's lovely Itty Bitty Quilt Block Magnets...
I sewed up the fronts last night. For those not in the know, these measure 2" square. I am awaiting a sheet of magnetic... um... magnets to come, so it's all preparation.
Oh, and if you are enjoying some warm dry weather, please don't tell me, as I am already turning into a crazy woman, and I will not be held responsible for my actions!
I'm with you on the weather. Had enough of this drought for this year!!
ReplyDeleteNo sign of the sun here in Somerset. The roads are flooded, the fields are swimming and I think I'm developing webbed feet.
ReplyDeleteSweet little blocks. Wet here too :(
ReplyDeletedare I say it's at least dry here. Now, my having typed that at all will mean it rains in the next 10 mins.
ReplyDeleteI'm sick of the weather too, it seems like weeks since i got to walk the dog in the dry! and now they're digging up the road outside and my house is shaking! Cute little blocks though :o)
ReplyDeleteThe only ray of sunshine I got today was the postie bringing me Fabric. Summersville!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the teeny tiny magnets.
Boo for rain, it sucks. Loving your magnet blocks though x
ReplyDeletecute blocks! those are teeny tiny pieces, lots of patience to be sure :)
ReplyDeleteThe rain sucks. I'm with you. I cannot take any more.
ReplyDeleteYou will be pleased then to know that it's even raining in Perth. Yes indeedy I just had to turn the TV off because the rain so so heavy I could not hear. It's been raining all week and all week to come, so perhaps I'm just getting aclimatised for my UK trip ;)
ReplyDeleteSunny? Here? Good grief no!
ReplyDeleteHaha Hadley! Keep on sewing and you will be fine - we are saving the good weather for the FQ Retreat!
ReplyDeleteoh I wish it would rain here! cute little blocks...
ReplyDeleteI hope that the snuggling on the sofa works and those tiny little blocks are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI am in the NW part of Washington state and we have been OVERLY wet this year too! It's downright depressing!!!
ReplyDeleteYour little magnets look really pretty! I can see even your scissors match them, how neat! Sending you some sunshine even though it's raining in here too! :) Stay dry!
ReplyDeleteit is so crap, isn't it! I'm so tempted to go somewhere hot for a couple of days. Oh, for a giant bank-balance!
ReplyDeletewe in scotland do not have a drought but ..................we have had no rain for over a week great !!! thinking of you :)) loving the magnets to be !!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the shots of turquoise/aqua in your magnets! Send me some of your rain! :o)
ReplyDeleteNot sure I'm going to get time to Zakka this week, but where are you getting magnets from? Everywhere I've look seems to be out of stock or a £5 delivery charge ! think I might cut up the ones on the fridge!
ReplyDeleteI think I have rain depression.......at least that is what I am calling it. I mean honestly ! Yesterday evening we had two whole hours of sun from 6 pm to 8 pm and then I woke up in night at midnight when it was raining so hard on the roof. Fed up done with and all.....
ReplyDeleteAll I'm going to say is come and move over to Belfast! Jxo
ReplyDeleteThe magnets look pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm like a vampire and avoid the sun, rain is actually my favourite weather - good job I live in Manc!
Like Deborah said, send us some of your rain. Actually I'll switch places with you. We probably won't have rain until next fall. And I get bored with sun every.single.day. Sorry. I just had to get that out.
ReplyDeletesuper cute! out of interest.. where did you order the magnets?
ReplyDeleteOops. you better not come over to mine today. Anyway, you wouldn`t like it here...far too hot.
ReplyDeleteCute wee magnets-to-be! Ironically, in Scotland where there's no drought, it's hardly rained lately!
ReplyDeletecute blocks, I cant believe your scissors match them (please don't tell me you have a rainbow of scissors depending on the project!)
ReplyDeleteI got my 'magnets' from the £1 shop, two A4 sheets of magnetic photo 'paper' but it it thick, like a magnet haha, not bad for a pound!
Holy tiny. I don't have the patience - well done you!
ReplyDeleteCute blocks :) And just where did you find magnetic sheets? As for the rain, it's even been so soggy I had to buy more school shoes, the others just fell to bits with all that wet stuff!
ReplyDeleteWow 2"! I don't know how people have been making them look so neat! =D
ReplyDeleteoooh your teeny blocks are so cute! Sounds like your weather is even worse than ours... not that you'd like ours much either, you'd still be bonkers.
ReplyDeleteoh your teeny patchworks are so sweet - love your palette AND that you are hand quilting.
ReplyDeleteI love your teeny tiny blocks!
ReplyDeleteI am really glad you are making the magnets. I couldn't figure out why I would need them as I have plenty of cool magnets but you have FQ retreat to have extra bits for.
ReplyDeleteI did refine the pencil case to be more useful by making it smaller to hold readers.
I think I have to return my Zakka Style book back to the library (dratted fines). I might make the messenger bag and call it good.
Sorry about the wet drought. Can you still get fined for watering your yard?
well we got a laugh here in the states today seeing Prince Charles and Camilla doing the weather report on British television! Sorry your weather is so miserable xo
ReplyDeleteDown here in South Australia we are waiting for the rain. We'll swap you! It's late autumn and farmers are trying to seed (sow the crops) at the moment and they are just making dust, not turning over soil! Love your blog sarahleigh@internode.on.net
