Way too windy to attempt outdoor shots today, sorry! |
Quite unlike me, I haven't enough batting or fabric for the backing, so I may need to do a spot of online shopping too. I might piece some of the leftovers from the top so that I can easily get away with 1.5m / 60" of regular width fabric for the back, although I might go wide-ass Klona and be done... a little pondering is definitely needed.
I also have to pull my finger out and make something for Mother's Day (UK) next Sunday and my parents Anniversary the week after. These will only be small things, as they both have quilts and the look on their faces when I mention I am making more, says 'we have enough already!' rather than 'hope they are ours'. Does anyone-else's family appear to be suffering quilt fatigue?
Well, whoever you are trying to please this weekend, I hope you have fun doing it xxx
The blocks are beautiful. I'm sure you'll come up with something for the upcoming occasions... I thing I'm covered until Christmas with my family but then I'm staring down quilt fatigue for sure!
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks, going to be a gorgeous quilt. My family kind of get a panicky look when I mention making them another something... I am running out of people to offload my stuff on!
ReplyDeleteI love your fabrics! It looks so great and it is perfect for spring :)
ReplyDeleteI went to get batting two days ago but I did not get curved pins so it is still all waiting to get finished. any online shops you can recommend?

ReplyDeleteno quilt fatigue yet... my family is too damn big! seven siblings for me, six for the mr. someday it will set in... maybe.
ReplyDeleteI aim to please myself this weekend, and no one else if it interferes in me doing what I want. Chances of success? Bugger all but I can remain optimistic!
ReplyDeleteQuilt fatigue! Indeed! Your stained glass is looking 'polished' !!!
ReplyDeleteooh, this has given me an idea - might try this as my first solids only quilt, if I can get the colours right....

Your blocks are looking gorgeous. Such a pain to be short of the necessary fabric. Have a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose lovely blocks are motivating me through the endless cutting. I do a bit each time I am in the kitchen where the best cutting counter is. No chance of quilting fatigue in my family yet, I am pretty sure my kids, siblings and nieces and nephews would take a quilt for each season before they got tired of them. I have a long way to go.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are lookin lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteIf you weaken and head for eternal maker tomorrow, text me, niki and are are off to mums, niki fancies Gun Wharf, but a detour via EM could be negotiable!
ReplyDeleteGoing to be another great finish soon then if you are talking backing and wadding already!
ReplyDeleteLovely blocks - lots of pink hues - definitely my taste. xx
