I am such an Aneela Hoey 'fan', you may have noticed, she has! Aneela was the inspiration for my Happy Scrappy quilt, I have my Sherbet Pips Confetti quilt, and she designed the Around the Corner 'Man Quilt' pattern; my hexie sewing bag is predominantly Pips, I am working on a Pips hexie cushion during all those ballet lessons and I have a stash of Little Apples waiting to ripen. So you could easily guess that A Walk in The Woods is just a tad eagerly waited, oh, and pre-ordered already!
But looky look at these apparent scraps (although I beg to differ!)...
I was sooooooooooooooooo over the moon to find these waiting for me when I got home from work today; stacking them into piles of the different prints was so therapeutic after 5 hours of database interrogation.
Aneela is such a lovely, funny, generous and super talented designer and maker, and a Brit! This line might just be my favourite so far, Little Red is the cutest. (Did I miss anything out Aneela?!). I am so chuffed, even the pain of the Nativity cannot wipe the smile off my face.
Wise Man update:
I hate gold thread even more than I imagined I would - so it has been banished, having been unpicked again and again! The 'slinky look' from the first fitting this morning has been rectified this evening with the addition of a full length pleat down the back; gold ribbon and a nasty button have blinged it up a bit, and hopefully I will be able to entice the wise one to try it on again tomorrow for a photo or two! Oh and before I go, Noodlehead-Anna is having a 2 day sale, offering $2 off all her patterns, including the 241 tote, so for less than £4, you could get that, or, as I did, the Go Anywhere Bag pattern. Woo hoo!
i hope the wise man allows some photos. and you lucky lucky ducky! i think her joiner fabrics are my favorites of all time! and that little red is really adorable.
ReplyDeleteYou lucky lucky.... hehehe :-) I really love the look of Walk in the woods, I think it might just be the best one yet.
ReplyDeletePoor wee man, first you make him wear a dress then you're threatening to take photos and blog them?! (cant wait to see!!)
You and Helen both! I am so jealous. I made three Pips quilts and a cushion. Doesn't that count? Very pleased for you despite my jealousy. I think gold ribbon will have more impact than gold thread so it was the best choice anyway!
ReplyDeleteLucky you! Hadley and Helen - so pleased for you both! Love those fabrics that Aneela just get's better and better!
ReplyDeleteMy son was threatened with having to wear tights in year 6 but I managed to persuade the teacher to let the boys wear jodhpurs instead! Phew he owes me so much!
Those little foxes are too cute! Really, it all is. What are you going to do with it besides sort it and gaze upon it? I'm getting the Go Anywhere, too. Can't wait to see your version!
ReplyDeleteOooh, lucky girl with that scrap bag, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteDon't blame you on the thread though, it's evil...
Woohoo - those wee foxes are so cute. I am still waiting to start my Pips project.........
ReplyDeleteAnother lucky duck! Enjoy your scraps! Jxo
ReplyDeleteHow did you manage to score such a deal? I want in!!! Or is it just for super cool peeps like you and Helen? :o)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your scraps Hadley!
ReplyDeleteGreat fabric. I can imagine your distaste of the gold thread...I hate unpicking what a pain!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that Laura thinks I'm super cool (we all know you are but me?!!). Love your 'scraps' and as I have my own set I don't need to send Archie through your letter box, he will be pleased! Good luck with the costume - do you have to make his gift and crown as well or are they in the props cupboard?! If you still need to use the gold thread you could couch it or use it in your bobbin and work upside down if your machine doesn't like it going through the tension discs...
ReplyDeleteim with you on the gold thread - I occasionally machine embroider with it, but it shreds horribly. i think maybe you are happy with your scraps! i'm off to follow your link
ReplyDeleteOk, so now I have fox envy! so much scrappy potential... :)
