HO-bloody-HO!

Today was going so well; penultimate day at work, and home to finish another Christmas present before the school run...

I used Kerry's super tute from the Sizzix Christmas blog hop, and the bundle of fabric from Pin It and Stitch which one little girl had adopted the minute she saw the mice!

Thanks ladies, you are going to ensure a very smiley girl on Christmas morning!

And the not-so-ho?

Our last Tesco delivery before Christmas, (hauling a heavy trolley round the aisles is still not my idea of fun or comfort), and guess what, no freaking turkey crown!  No apologies, just a line of the delivery note, along with the short-life coleslaw and replacement grapes.

One poor lad on the customer service helpline got my wrath; I did warn him in advance, I am fair like that.  We got a without prejudice payment of £20 for the aggro - not enough I reckon.

But be warned; I pretty much demanded that one be waiting for me tomorrow at the Xtra store near work, in fact, whilst on hold I was able to set up a 'click & collect' order for what I wanted - but when the guy rang the store, they informed him there would be none in stock until Wednesday!

Sheesh, I went to the Metro in the next village after tea and got one, smaller than I had hoped for, but safely in the freezer now, so only the fresh bread and veggies to get next week now.

I have never been so prepared, but with all the health issues and rather a lot of stitching miles to cram into the next week, I am leaving nothing to chance, and do not intend to leave the village after I get back from work tomorrow until after the big day.

So please do not rely on anyone but yourselves, especially Tesco - yes Tesco, I am going to warn my friends about your greed and total disregard for your customers; I had almost forgiven you for substituting the nappies we ordered for nappy sacks, all hose years ago!

  1. I noticed that our tesco didn't have any in either. What a farce

  2. Last week I ordered a load of JL vouchers to be delivered tomorrow, when someone can wait in to sign for them because we are not near a JL so can't pick them up in store. I paid my money and got a confirmation email thanking me for my order but saying due to high volume of orders no delivery date is guaranteed. Under that something about how missing orders will not be looked into until 10 days past the delivery date. I have to wait for confirmation of despatch confirming delivery...and I've had no sodding delivery notification and they've taken my money! Wonder if they'll turn up in time for Christmas let alone tomorrow!

  5. What!?!? How could they be so unprepared! 'Tis the season and this is their (big?) business. Screw 'em.

  6. ROFLMAO, sorry, I was with you right up til the last substitution, classic! I do still haul my trolley around, but I'm shopping for me for a month only (well a couple of weeks for the veggies and fresh stuff), while my mum gets the delivery from Sainsbury's and has heart failure every time the guy's early, like when she got home from the airport last week to find him sitting in the drive half an hour early. Apparently you can't win ;o)

  7. Have never braved the scrum at Tesco for the turkey and assorted bits, it's village shopping from here until January 2nd for us. Narrows the choice but it is much more pleasant!

  8. LOVE that bunting! I went into Tescos the other day asking for non-alcoholic mulled wine. The first 3 people didn't know where it was (incl. a manager), then the guy in the off license part told me to go to M&S to get some!! Jxo

  9. OK, I am confused. What is a turkey crown? Is that your christmas turkey? And did you seriously buy all the food for the holidays already? I have not even started to think about the necessary food supply. I will be sending my guy over on Christmas Eve to pick up the groceries for the Christmas dinner, although we do order the turkey to be ready in advance. I think that maybe we do this food thing differently than you do here in Canada. Of course, we do live a 5 minute drive to the nearest huge grocery store and 7 minutes to another.

  10. nappies for nappy sacks? Bloody idiots. Reminds me of when my sister got lemon kitchen cleaner instead of lemon squash. Genius!

  12. This post was fascinating reading for a California girl. Grocery delivery? That's nowhere to be found here! Turkey crown. New vocabulary. Nappy sacks???? What? I'm doing my major Costco shopping on Thursday and then won't venture far from home.
    btw.....love your bunting!
