Lucky Stars are go...

I finally settled on texty, low volume neutrals mixed with solids.  I know.  Solids!

FYI I have a love-hate relationship with solids; think I should love them, but really, mostly, I am a hater!!  Shocking, but true.

But I may have turned a corner...

These are my practise and January Lucky Star BOM blocks.  I have opted for the 6.5" rather than 12.5" blocks.  They are not perfect, but I am happy, and that's a promising start!

It also means I have been able to tick off everything that was on my January To Do list, including 2 of my 4 first quarter FAL goals, and I still have a whole day off left this month.  Go me!

  6. Go you for sure. I am shocked to see you working with solids like this but you will get to love them if you just use them more. These blocks are stunning.

  11. You've found a way to get a lot of texture into those blocks. Even with solids. :-)

They are really interesting to look at and my eye keeps moving through them - great work!

  13. I'm with you! I'd much rather Sketch or other "textured solids", but I do like the different-shades-effect you have going on there!

  20. 6.5"? I'm even more inpressed. I love solids when I use them but I'm terrified at choosing the colours...I need one of those card thingys. I was thinking of you last night during that show I like to call...Miranda :-)

  22. I am normally a (shhhh) solids hater too, but mixing them with the texty prints really brings them to life. Yay for you! I am flapping a weeny bit about my (self imposed) January list, and reminding myself that no one will come and beat me up if I don't manage everything...
