KatCam requested a couple of Retro Flowers as her Brit Bee blocks for August. So whilst she was cheering the Brits to gold at Eton Dorney on Friday, I crossed the finish line with her floral pair.
Having made four of my sixteen RFs, I am all too familiar with the pattern and all that trimming and pressing, but I drew a deep breath and got to it.
After finishing these, I duly made up another 3 of my own, which I have forgotten to photograph, sorry. I love these blocks so much when they are finished, but after the curves are sewn, which I do enjoy, I just wish they would miraculously finish themselves!
Right, I best go psych myself up for another gruelling day watching the Olympics. Isn't it exhausting watching Team GB win gold medals?!
Lovely blocks, and well done you for finishing them then doing MORE.... I really really love the block, but not the doing it....
ReplyDeleteI was deeply envious of KatCam watching the rowing, and now to top it all she has these beautiful blocks to look forward to! Stunning work H.
ReplyDeleteLovely blocks! Enjoy the Olympics - my nanna nap was hijacked by the gymnastics!
ReplyDeletehad to laugh....I'm completely emotionally drained with all the excitement and my Swiss husband is well cheesed-off. Murray beating Roger this afternoon was the icing on the cake for him....not.... (He is on the verge of banning the Olympics at our house!)
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks - someday I'm going to get off my arse and make a retro flowers quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love this retro flowers block, but having just done some curves for ANnabella, I don't think I'll be making a retro flowers quilt!
ReplyDeleteOh that is another reason I haven't finished my sewing room yet either. I am loving the Olympics. Retro looks fab!
ReplyDeletelove them! And YAY Team GB!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty blocks! We are all about the swimming races and gymnastics in this house. And those glimpses of your royalty in the stands!
ReplyDeleteAnd there they were sitting waiting for me when I got home too! Thank you so much, love them!
ReplyDeletePS, well done on getting more of yours done too :o)
Not much Olympic watching here, but I love your retro flowers. I just gifted my RF quilt the other night, as you know.
ReplyDeletethese look fabulous!! great work! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Fabulous! You've had lots of practise on these! Jxo
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks for Katy! And I pretty much always wish my blocks would finish themselves...
ReplyDeleteI thought you'd be quick of the blocks with these ones! (see what I did there?!) Am enthralled by the TV too at the moment, I keep getting closer to the screen at critical moments, I'll be sitting on it soon!
ReplyDeleteI love the Retro Flowers blocks - haven't started doing my own but I want to! Sneaky Katy getting everyone to help! Enjoy the GB medal count - lets hope it keeps on climbing especially the golden ones!
ReplyDeleteLove these blocks!
ReplyDeleteLooking fab! I'm making a few for Katy too...I'm a little scared!
ReplyDeleteB watched the marathon yesterday and has been napping all day today. He's exhausted :)
