I feel like I am chasing my tail a bit at the moment; I am glad I have been able to make progress on both my current swaps, and have got a couple of bee blocks under my belt this week; more on those tomorrow, but I don't feel I am getting enough things ticked off my mental to do list, (read that whichever way you like!).
I have been spending way too much time chatting rather than sewing whilst at ballet and swimming, and so my Spring Carnival EPP is going very slowly...
And today I received even more inspiration of the paper variety...
Having seen, and maybe even stroked Tacha's awesome Union Jack quilt at Retreat, and spotting last Thursday night, mid-FQly Twitter-chatter, that languishing on my Amazon Wish List, Hexa-Go-Go still had a release date for a few weeks time, Book Depository however said 'in stock' and it was cheaper - so in went my order, and today I received the book!
At rushed first glance it sure is lovely!
I really am hoping to be able to spend a lot of the summer holidays in the park with the kids, so between the hexing and embroidery I should be all set to sew-on-the-go; we just need a bit of actual summer to make leaving the confines of the house a posibility!
To add to my optimism, I have just ordered some 4" hoops from eBay too, so bring on the sunshine xxx
Ah I loved the Union Jack hexy quilt at FQ Retreat too - it is fabulous! V jealous on the book front x
ReplyDeleteChatting is good too. My copy of the book came from Amazon last week before I left town so I am hoping to settle into EPP for the beach here.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're all set for a really lovely summer - fingers crossed it comes this year!
ReplyDeleteI love your EPP project - the fabrics are gorgeous! Have fun with the book - I've had a 'look inside' on Amazon and it looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWould love to stop and chat but I NEED to go look at this book...........(loving your carnival blocks)
ReplyDeleteHave you given up on the sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteLove your carnival blocks - I seem to have fallen a little in love with paper piecing having spent several hours over the last two days indulging :)
ReplyDeleteTut, fancy socialising rather than EPP-ing, shame on you... ;o) Loving the blocks though
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get my hands on this book :-) And your piecing is beautiful. Love the fabrics. The union jack quilt is stunning!
ReplyDeleteThe carnival wheels look good so far. I think I'll go check out the book...=D
ReplyDeleteChatting is good too. Love those circles and that book looks good. Did I ever tell you about all the hexies I inherited years ago? This book would be most useful.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get plenty of sewing sunshine! And a good chat is good for the soul!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! I must get some EPP projects prepped and packed for our road trip next week! Jxo
ReplyDeleteYour spring carnival is looking great! I'm trying not to branch out from hexies with my epp, but I am very tempted by that one. And I have to get that book!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so good at the EPP. When are you posting the tutorial? :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, lovethe circles - paper pieced? Really? And now off to check out the hexie book, looks fab!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with slowing down on the sewing front and enjoying life. Love what you are doing though.
ReplyDeleteYes Hadley - breaaaaathe. Think zen thoughts. Love the look of that book and I`m in a bee with Tacha. With Tacha!!
ReplyDeleteSew on my friend! You can do it. :)
ReplyDeleteHadley I LOVE your comment to spammers above your comment box! xo
ReplyDeleteI love your spring carnival work, I am in love with EPP at the moment so might get round to this one day. Also, a big thanky ou for pointing out that Hexa GoGo is available at the Book Depository, heading over there right now.
