Sketchy Random...

It's time to fall back on the kids to provide a little random entertainment to the masses again!

Here are a selection of the recent pile that has appeared for my delectation...

In case you were unsure, clockwise from top right... a UFO, Princess Kate, Prince George and Prince William, some cartoon creature I should probably know the name of, and The Queen!

Linking up with Cindy and the Randomeers, who may, or may not have made a bit more of an effort ;)

Really Really Random...

Well spotting this was the most random thing I have seen in a while!

Translation, for those not fluent in 7 year old phonics...

Duck and a bunny which I call Dubunny
If you see one call 085432942
If you see one near your house, go to house 29
Elephant with 6 legs
If you see one call 421829104
If you see one near your house, go to house 94

Linking with the Randomeers, because otherwise it would just be plain weird!

Pumpkin Crazy!

If you saw Cindy's random post yesterday, you will know that last week I pretty much dismissed the whole of the North America as pumpkin mad, and quite frankly no-one has said or shown me anything to dispel this image.

I am not doubting they are lovely but as well as the real things, prolific stitching of pumpkin type affairs has taken over the interwebs - I'm looking at you Di!  I realise Jan seems to have been put under the spell too, but in general it is just not British!

I have borrowed this picture from here, The West Beach, Ca, Pumpkin festival is coming...

Looks great, now spot the difference.  This is how we roll in my village...

See the reverence we hold them by!!  We may go bonkers by Halloween, and there could well be 3 boxes in stock by then, with some fake cobwebs draped over them for spooky effect.

I know it's Friday, I know there's no sewing to show you, but I am linking up with the Randomeers with my tongue firmly in cheek!

Slightly less random!

Well my random post is no where near as random as the comments you left on last night's post!!

So firstly, to set the record straight - no I am not pregnant!  I bought some leather to use on the secret-for-me project, it sat in the sweltering conservatory for a day or two, and when it came to stitch it, the real leather smell, nothing more, was just a little overwhelming, and is making me wonder if I want that whiff following me around forever and a day!  So you can take your knitted booties elsewhere; you are all barking mad!

Moving on...

With the end of term coming round quickly, we have the pleasure of all sorts of school activities; my favourite part of last week's Summer Fair was the owls!

Today we were invited to the Year 3 - Healthy Me video show with flapjacks and smoothies as bribery!  Dear son ended up in charge of smoothie pouring, he did a fine job...

The girls had their penultimate after-school swimming lesson...

... and the temptation finally got the better of one of the teaching assistants and I, and we sat on the edge for a rule-breaking leg dangle!

And finally, inspired by Andy Murray, we have the Swingball out in the garden; the big plastic paddle rackets made a nice home for this little chap...

... who the girls thought would be great to let loose in the kitchen!  Um... no x

Thursday Randomness...

Well I managed to get all the ironing done this morning, 1 1/2hrs, three episodes of Frasier, whilst the washing machine simultaneously created more, but hey ho...

School holidays have obviously been a bit of an influence on the random in my week, the girls have been making me signs...

Thread, Scissors, Quilting Things!

And they know me and my tea drinking habits so well...

Dear son got a drawing published in the online Moshi Monsters Googenheim gallery...

He was so thrilled!

We even had to have a Moshi dinner...

And that is all the photographic evidence of my week with the kiddos; which looks quite fun without the real-life volume!

Linking as always with Really Random and wonderful Cindy.  How has your week been?
