iPad post...

OK, so today has been a nightmare, although a nightmare would require sleep.

By 1am I was going mad with the dripping from the rain off the portaloo next door onto some noisey polystyrene stuff, and despite my best efforts in the rain and darkness I couldn't work out exactly what needed moving.

I lay awake for the rest of the night, and at 5.30 am new time, the power went out.  It flickered back on at 6 am, then returned for good just after 6.30 am, which in old money was 7.30, so all the kids were up and at it.

We went to my sister-in-law's for lunch, I was feeling even more roapy than I have been, and when we got home, my MacBook decided to have a fit and refuses to boot!

Oh I can't wait for tonight's storm, things are going so well.

Sorry no picture, I have neither the time nor inclination to work that little conundrum out this evening.

Hopefully we will all make it through the night in one piece; so take care everyone, see you on the other side xxx

  4. Oh no! Sorry, I was giggling a wee bit at the idea of you wrestling the portaloo in the rain though...

  7. Oh no, once you wake up from an annoying sound, it seems to get louder, too... I keep waiting for the storm to hit here, but it seems to skirt around us. Take care, and keep safe!!

  10. We have a big tarpaulin tent over our garage and utility as they have no roof at present - I have been wondering whether to sleep in my ruby slippers tonight. I totally feel for you with the sleep thing, the wooden struts holding the tarpauling kept banging on the landing window and wall all night for the last two nights and I have had no sleep either. Perhaps we will both be so tired we will sleep right through the storm!?

  12. Not having a good week are you! :-(. Lisa came home but went back to London this afternoon as we were worried the trains may not be running in the morning, but everything is calm outside at the moment

  14. Boy, it seems the wheel of fortune has spun just enough to leave you stuck in the mud... The good news is that the wheel is always turning and you will start rising out of it! :-)

  17. Is this the bad storm we have heard you are going to get? When I've had a day like that, I go hole up in y sewing room and sew like fury until my mood clears.
Hope things settle down for you tomorrow.

  18. Hope you are still there this morning. I'm in ashby where it is really quite calm. I'm having to post on my sil's Mac which is equally challenging for me!

  19. Oh, crap! I do hope you're all safe and dry after that whopper storm last night and that you start to feel a little more human soon!

  20. This makes flying home in a snowstorm on two tiny buzzy airplanes, with accompanying delays and snowy landings sound not nearly as bad as it felt. I think you need some noise cancelling headphones to put on for such nights.

  21. This too shall pass. I know it's probably not want you want to hear, but I know it to be true when things go rough for me. Looking forward to you smiling again!😊
