So in the last couple of days I have made these for Bee Blessed...
... full details here if you want to donate a block or two to this great cause.
I made Valerie's Stitch Tease block; 24 flying geese in raspberry pinks and golds on a low volume background, (sounds like the menu in a fancy restaurant to me)...
... and today I used the pre-school pick up hour to make the latest Siblings Together Bee block for Mary; paper-pieced strings...
Another 20" block, using Moda/Zen Chic's Barcelona. A shout out as ever to our wonderful sponsors...
And in an almost-Bee, a Pop Up Bee, if you like, I have been stitching together rows of gorgeous Oakshott HSTs. You may have seen these appearing all over the place, all will be revealed, in due course...
The 'you need to buy some yourself to see their real colour' photo effect working well tonight then! |
Oakshott is coming along superbly, and omg you did that strings block PRE school run?! nutter. All fabulous tho.
ReplyDeleteYou have been very busy! I need to get my bee blocks done this weekend too
ReplyDeleteYou are so organised, I aspire to that level of organisation but have never reached it yet :)

ReplyDeleteI love the oakshots in your quilt. My friend cautioned me about their shrinkage, I usually do not wash my fabrics before sewing but I might with these. Have you noticed this problem?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
I love your blocks, and a pop up bee sounds like fun, I have seen a few of those blocks.
ReplyDeleteWow! Such a lot of HSTs - you've done a fab job on them. Absolutely love the colours in your quarter log cabins. Thanks for making them and for the wee plug. You string block is so striking in those fabrics. That will be a zingy quilt!
ReplyDeleteThat string block is super striking. Wow! And oakshott HSTs--amazing! Yeah, you really have to see that fabric in person to appreciate its fabulousness.
ReplyDeletelots of lovely stuff, some fab blocks and the and-black HSTs look seriously yummy - makes me wish i wasn't allergic to HSTs. but very glad im not putting them all together!

ReplyDeleteI didn't think I liked the Barcelona range, looking at that bee block I now know that I definitely do!
ReplyDeleteThanks for a wonderful block, my string selection was very random so it's great to see how they turn out. Does this mean you have the rest of the month to play if you've met your bee commitments?!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing your motto is bee prepared. Beautiful blocks and Val is going to have an amazing quilt!!
ReplyDeleteI hope to work on bee blocks this week. Yours are all lovely as ever
ReplyDeleteI love that - a pop up bee! As always I hate that you are on top of the bee block game and shaming the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing. Bee queen if you ask me. I love love love the stringy blocks. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou're doing much better than me, I'm at 1/3 right now!
