Well it was a wet and windy weekend here, with odd moments of sunshine, luckily coinciding with this...
But after the domestics were taken care of, there was a little time for some stitichery.
Yesterday I made a start on my partner's name tag for FQ Retreat...
I have embroidered the name and blog-name of my secret partner under those there virtual buttons. The liberty patchwork has ended up with 1/2" squares.
I am undecided on what colour/fabric to bind and make the lanyard in - yep it'll be a lanyard (again); I do not like pins, and I expect my partner to tow that line too!
Today after the duck race, I settled down and pieced all the crosses for the next border of my Marcelle Medallion...
And because there was a rather large bunch of bananas turning blacker by the minute, I made another Moshi Monsters 'nana bread - yeah, I am almost fooling the kids that I can cook!
So that was my weekend; hope you managed to cram some good stuff into yours too!
Ahead of the game with the tags already eh? 'Sawffy pretty too. As are the crosses.
ReplyDeleteDuck race looks great fun!
Lucky partner, but I'm so glad I've opted out of all that this year, can't even sew for myself right now!
ReplyDeleteooh it's for me right?? Would make me very happy!
ReplyDeleteSo did your duck win? I'd have loved a lanyard, didn't think to ask for one though, rats!
ReplyDeleteI love how the name tag is turning out - who's it for? Go on, I can keep a secret ;o)
ReplyDeleteBind in blue! Lucky duck!
ReplyDeleteCake and sewing. Bit like my weekend, but bet you were spared the 0530 wake up when the husband got up to go do some scuba. Stupid man!
ReplyDeleteBoo, don't think my name and blog would fit under 3 buttons! Someone is getting a great name badge
ReplyDeleteDivine name tag! You could squeeze me in there no problem! And please don't learn to cook - you'll make me look really bad! Jxo
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty name tag - love it all!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking start to your partner's name tag. I didn't get my partner assignment.
ReplyDeleteThe name tag looks fab (how long did you say this teasing will go on?) and the crosses are looking great
ReplyDeleteeeeep - the tininess of the patchwork is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's incredible is that you can still really see the beautiful fabrics even though they are so teensy. Love the look of the cross blocks for the medallion :)
ReplyDeleteI really like your crosses blocks. So fresh looking. I need to go to a retreat somewhere. Gotta find one soon. They must be so much fun.
ReplyDeleteOh my word, the name tag is so cute. Have started to plan mine out now...... and I'm with you on the lanyard approach!
ReplyDeleteI'm bloody loving that name tag and I reckon my name could be under it and the Liberty would match the bag I made for the retreat and I Bloody need a lanyard.
ReplyDeleteLove the look of your other stitching and the cake...
I just swore twice on your blog tee hee but I was restrained I almost said the f word. :-)
ReplyDeleteOoooh...is that my name tag?
ReplyDeleteVery nice name tag and I approve of the lanyard. Di x
ReplyDeleteNearly made the tag? I've only just got my swap name! If the badge is for me, I'd be happy with double sided sticky tape, it's so nice!
ReplyDeleteMy brain hasn't even decided where to go for the name tag ideas, you're such a smarty pants, i'll bet you were the right teachers pet at school- and it's lovely btw! :o).
ReplyDeleteSo fabulous, how do you sew such tiny squares together? i think my sewing machine would eat them up!
