The men in my life are conspiring against me!
Dear hubby was ill all weekend, and took today off work with a bout of Man Flu; then I got the call from school to come and collect a poorly-feeling son after lunch, and to top it all, the reminder pinged up on my phone for my brother-in-law's birthday in a weeks' time!
So not only did the weekend not yield as much me time as I would have liked, today, before I could get on with my Marcelle Medallion crosses, I had to make a gift, quick smart.
Some gent-flannel scraps left from the Christmas man-pouches and key fob hardware; Bob's your uncle...
One is for my Bro' in law and the other is for the poorly bloke upstairs; the notebook made me smile, and is perfect for the Kiwi recipient.
Sonny-boy went to bed feeling fine, hopefully hubby will sleep his off, and fingers crossed everyone will be back in their respective proper locations tomorrow, and I will be able to get back to the plan!
I've ordered some additional Eloise Liberty fabric (same as the spool) to bind my partner's Retreat name tag, and I am already sketching out my ideas for the sample swap.
Honestly, my To Do list does not have any more wiggle-room!
Tut, don't they know you have important sewing to do?!
ReplyDeleteDashed inconsiderate blighters, the lot of them!
ReplyDeleteExactly what Lynz said! And perfect choice re the liberty, my eldest is called Eloise which makes me feel I should be entitled to all the free fabric of that name that I want....I don't think liberty would agree somehow. I'm also very glad it's a pretty print, imagine finding a fabric with your name only to find its a fugly!
ReplyDeleteMen, they just don't get it, do they!
ReplyDeleteMen. They are undeserving of the loveliness!
ReplyDeleteAw, hope the poorly ones are better soon :) Am I the only sympathetic one commenting??
ReplyDeleteMen are not often fun when they are sick, so I hope yours get better. I love that binding fabric, if that name tag is not for me maybe you should make another for me, just saying.
ReplyDeleteMan flu is deadly for us women!
ReplyDeleteYour efficiency is both admirable and scary!

Ahhh! The best laid plans of mice and men! Hope everyone is right as rain tomorrow! Jxo
ReplyDeleteSo your blog title pulled me in immediately! These fobs are perfectly manly and beautiful! Here's hoping that you get in a good chunk of sewing time and that everyone stays healthy!
ReplyDeleteI hope the men have flown away from the flu or maybe I should say that the other way round. Anyway, your key fobs are perfect.
ReplyDeleteWhen were parters handed out for name tags...I did not get mine.
Sounds like a plan, and your manly fobs are a brilliant idea.
ReplyDeleteHow inconvenient for them to mess with your sewing time! Hope all germs are banished and the twins fight it like the champion females they are.
ReplyDeletebah! reminds me of this:

Good job there are more girls than boys in your family. Those key fobs are amazing...well done!
ReplyDeleteYou should have a no illness rule in your house, these things cannot be allowed to interfere with your sewing!
ReplyDeleteLoving your manly fobs and that book is great. I'm plotting for both the name badge and the sample swap! x
ReplyDeleteawww hope wee DS is okay :-) Imagine getting in the way of your sewing. Shocking.
ReplyDeleteThey both hsve to be better and out by your day off!
ReplyDeleteHope they both are feeling better and not in any way passing on their maladies to you!
ReplyDeleteEvery confidence you will wiggle through!
