Quick!

My computer is working again, but if the last 48hrs or so are anything to go by, it could be quite a short-lived experience!

So here's a quickie...

The kids went to the synthetic ice rink this morning and were the only ones on the first session - so a good time was had by all.

After that was a painful (literally and metaphorically) shopping trip to get the girls some birthday outfits; they went from wanting the same but different to simply the same in the end, unprompted; so they are now happy, and I never want to see the Next changing room ever again!

On the sewing front, I have been working on my Midnight At The Oasis quilt, and all things being equal I'll get some photos in the next couple of days to show you.

I will attempt to reply to some emails and comments later, but that will be in the hands of the temperamental Mac Gods; so until next time xxx

Happy Halloween!

I am exhausted!

This morning we (synthetic, aka plastic) ice skated, which was good fun; no bruises for me...

Maybe the kids will have a few in the morning, but they probably won't notice whilst still on the sugar high, the result of a Halloween party afternoon, followed by an hour and a half trick or treating with their friends...

My friend and another adult shuffled 16, yes 16, five to eight year olds round the houses until it started raining.  I bet you would have loved to have opened the door to us!

I am going to watch Michael Palin in Brazil and put my achy feet up.  Our internet and email are playing up, so you may not even get to see this, but fingers crossed the Blogger ghoolies are playing nicely tonight xxx

Ice to see you ...

This morning dear son and I went ice skating - the real cold stuff, at the temporary outdoor rink in Worthing.

It was a little murky and rainy down by the seaside, but we had fun, no slippages and we topped it off with chocolate milkshakes and cake!

The trip to town also meant I could get my Comic Relief bag and a silk handkerchief for hubby, hurrah!

This afternoon at home we all settled down to watch Despicable Me - much smarter than the below average bear Boo Boo!  I also finished the first dolls' quilt binding.

Well that was half term!  Another Inset Day on Monday, but it's Daddy's turn to have a day off, and I'll be back at work, boo boo hiss!

Not an average Thursday morning...

This morning the girls had a Halloween party at nursery, so this involved them dressing up, and then eating lots of sweets, playing games, getting faces painted and generally having fun.

Meanwhile dear son and I went ice skating!

He was fantastic, I was dreadful!  It was artificial ice, ie. glossy plastic with blunt blades and therefore impossible, in the free-church next to work.  So for half an hour he wobbled around at speed, whilst I clung to the sides and clock-watched!  Good fun though, and earned us both a chocolate chip cookie, and a handful of glow-sticks afterwards, all in aid of a local children's hospice.

I am not feeling inspired to crack on with the Christmas crafting yet, maybe tonight, so for now I think I will go and knock up the chilli for tea and sort out the washing and ironing, or maybe I might just flick through my new Living etc that arrived today!
