When Kat announced a few weeks back that she was going to be running a low-stress scrappy swap, who was I to resist?
Now I love mama-ing the Mouthy Stitches swap, despite the swearing which may appear to the contrary, (stop sniggering Susan & Cindy), but it sure is lovely to let someone-else take the strain.
When I received my (lovely) partner's details, I was easily able to pull a bundle of scraps which I hope are to her liking, OK it may be a bit more than an FQs-worth, (but who's measuring?), and then decided I would make a pouch of some description.
Emily's timely tutorial over at the Village Haberdashery sprung to mind. I drafted the pattern under her guidance, made a couple of panels from scraps to the required size and got this little beauty made up yesterday...
I would love to keep it, I really would, so I will generously let my partner have 30 minutes to make a gushing comment over in the flickr group, and if she doesn't, I'll swap it out for something I'll be glad to see the back of! Fair enough?
Emily's tutorial is brilliant by the way - I love the shape and size of the pouch, and will definitely make more for my family at Christmas. I am now even planning on using my lovely bigger-balled frame, which I took to Retreat but didn't use as the pattern there was for a slightly different size frame. Thank you Emily, you're a star xxx
Beautiful scrappy purse. Lucky partner I say! Di x
ReplyDelete30 minutes! One day I'll try a framed purse. Yours is of course adorable.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love that purse!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had noticed Emily's tutorial the other night when I completely buggered up my first ever frame, hee hee! (The second one came out OK though, and I'll definitely be making more of them.)
Love it Hadders, it is divine! So so gutted I'm not in the swap now as that means there's no way it can be mine :-(
ReplyDeleteit's gorgeous! Can I have it if your partner doesn't get gushy?
ReplyDeleteLove, love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! thank you my partner. I will be so happy when it arrives :)
ReplyDeleteDont blame you one bit... Keep it! You deserve to keep something awesome...
ReplyDeleteI'll gush in your partner's place...I love this. It is quite possibly the best little framed clutch I have ever seen...in pink!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Please count this as your partner liking it! :D
ReplyDeleteOh it's sort of quite nice actually! Sure it will be well loved!
ReplyDeleteI saw Emily's purse for real today - it's pretty superb (much like yours!)
Only 30 minutes...oh your so kind! If your partner doesn't reply in time and then if you get sick of it, I'm sure that it would love a trip To Australia, then it would feel like a big purse.
ReplyDeleteWhat's your address again??
ReplyDeleteI love this so you have to send it to me if I'm your partner. If I haven't gushed enough on flickr it's only because I'm British and doing the reserve thing not because I don't really REALLY want it :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's just gorgeous! My favourite typewriters, and beautiful background. Ooh, might have to break the fabric diet and go hunting :-)
ReplyDeleteWow, I love it! Great colors and design
ReplyDeletegreat purse. I am loving the interior fabric
ReplyDeleteWell, I love it, maybe I am your partner in which case consider this gushing. Oh, and I voted for your quilt at the festival too, congrats!
ReplyDeleteLove the frame purse. Hate making them myself but love other people's! Your partner will be thrilled.
ReplyDeleteThat is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteDon't you dare keep it. Send it to your swap Mumma instead as a birthday present :D
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely and so neat, the typewriter is well centred!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Those purse frames are a little addicitve aren't they!
ReplyDeleteI just adore this - I see how difficult it must be to give away!!
ReplyDeletedid she comment in 30 minutes? it is really cute!
ReplyDeleteThis purse is absolutely stunning, I love it all, you will have one very happy partner (maybe its me, heres hoping!).
